Tshwane is being pushed to the edge. The ANC led administration wants to force through R1,8 billion in backdated salary increases without showing where the money will come from. They know the city cannot afford it, so they plan to dump the bill on residents. Higher rates. Higher taxes. Fewer services. This is what happens when political deals matter more than the future of the capital city.

Today in Council, the EFF gave me a full musical performance 🎤🎶. Unfortunately, while they were singing, they were also backing an ANC led coalition deal that puts politics before residents. In 2021 the then DA government chose to not approve increases to ensure Tshwane's financial ability and ensure the continued payment of salaries and prevent cutting funds from essential services⚡️.

The DA has obtained an internal document which reveals that the ANC-led Tshwane adjustment budget, to be tabled this Thursday in Council, is unfunded, with a R5.3 billion deficit, collapsing revenue collection and escalating water tanker overspending while key infrastructure projects are being defunded. The ANC wins Ward 10, in Mamelodi Tshwane. ⚫️🟢🟡 ANC = 2214 votes EFF = 982 votes MKP = 580 votes DA = 493 votes Al Jama-ah = 24 votes The ANC won by huge margins in the biggest VDs like Barack, AFM Church, Rephafogile and Eba Montle. The were celebrations in Ward 10, Mamelodi by members of the community after the results were announced and the ANC won. Tshwane is the home of the ANC. Gauteng is the home of the ANC. Big win for the ANC in the City of Tshwane as campaigns start for the Local Government Elections. In October 2024 the ANC was back in Government in the City Of Tshwane for the first time in 8 years.
