It is hard to believe this is it. Today is the final A’s home game in Oakland. We are running 8 car trains on several lines and will have 6 event trains for after the game. BART and the Athletics have been intertwined since 1972. Let's take a stroll down memory lane 🧵⬇️

BART was just a couple months old in 1972 when Joe Rudi, Sal Bando, Catfish Hunter, Vida Blue, and Rollie Fingers led the A’s to their first World Series victory in Oakland.

Since then, the Coliseum hosted three more World Series, an All-Star game, and countless other amazing sports memories.

It has been an honor taking fans to games over the decades and we look forward to taking riders to future concerts and sporting events at the Coliseum and Oakland Arena.

Here are some ridership facts from the past 10 seasons with the A’s (2013-2023, excluding 2020) • Approximately 2,000,000 fans used BART to get to the Coliseum.

• The highest ridership A’s game day was Thursday, October 10, 2013: Game 5 of the ALDS vs Detroit Tigers. The A’s got shutout 0-3 by Justin Verlander, ending the team’s playoff hopes. There were 32,777 exits at Coliseum Station (Pink also performed at the arena that day).

• The highest ridership regular season A’s game was Tuesday, July 8, 2014: Bay Bridge Series, with Sonny Gray getting good offensive support against Madison Bumgarner. The A’s won 6-1. There were 17,290 exits at Coliseum.

• The highest ridership A’s game day since the pandemic was Tuesday, June 13, 2023, the day of the fan-organized “Reverse Boycott.” The A’s won 2-1 against the Tampa Bay Rays. There were 12,611 exits at Coliseum.

One last time across the bridge for an A’s game.

👋

That’s it from us. We are on a train and out of here. Thanks for letting BART take you to all those games over the decades. It has been a privilege. Hang in there and keep riding. ⚾️💚💛🚊

See you on BART for @oaklandrootssc games at the Coliseum next year!
