10-car trains are now running on the Red and Yellow lines during the busiest commute hours! This is the first time BART has offered 10-car trains as part of its regular weekday service in more than six years. We are expanding our capacity as we see a surge in ridership.

BART’s schedule will change on August 10, 2026, with targeted improvements that will enhance reliability and reduce wait times for some riders. By making a change in how trains travel through Daly City Station and operating it as a center platform station, service will be improved throughout the system with more even headways, better transfers, and less train congestion. With these improvements, some departure times 🕐 will shift by a few minutes, and we encourage riders to check the schedule before August 10, to see if their trip is impacted. ⭕ The new schedules are posted as pdfs at ⭕ BART's Trip Planner at is updated with the changes when you input trips on and after August 10.

Baggu Well, this is awkward 😐 Did you see the BAGGU “collab”? You may have seen BART’s branding on baggu products recently but there was one big problem—we didn’t know about it. We’re flattered they love us so much and want to be associated with our awesome brand. But it would be nice if they had reached out to us and perhaps shared some of the profit since we are a public transit agency in financial crisis.

Look to the BART tracks! You might spot something never seen before in the Bay Area: a bright blue train car covered in dancing BARTy mascots. But beyond its playful appearance, the train is part of an ongoing effort to explore new and creative revenue opportunities for BART!

In honor of President’s Day, watch this archival footage of President Lyndon B. Johnson breaking ground on BART in Concord on June 19, 1964. The ceremony celebrated the start of construction on the 4.5-mile Diablo Test Track that would eventually become part of the Yellow line.

☔️BART no longer runs trains at reduced speed during the rain! Crews updated the train car braking profile software and made slight changes to train speeds at specific locations with a longitudinal slope and where data showed cars were experiencing high rates of wheel flats. ⬇️

We rolled out new fare gate tones today! The new “chime” tones play when riders hold their fare media (Clipper card, contactless bank card, or mobile payments) on the reader for an additional second and are intended to inform blind and low-vision riders that the gate is open.

Tomorrow, March 18, is Transit Workers Appreciation Day. We give thanks to all transit workers who work to move the Bay Area. If you see a transit worker out tomorrow, give them a 👋 and a "thank you!" "My parents can't drive me everywhere...I take BART to go see my friends."
