Kobe Bryant’s statue unveiling was just beautiful. Cookie and I were so impressed with his wife Vanessa’s grace, class, and her beautiful speech about not only Kobe but their beautiful daughters. Vanessa put together an outstanding ceremony. We were also so impressed with how Vanessa and Lakers Owner Jeanie Buss designed Kobe’s statue. The details are incredible and it’s one of the best statues I’ve ever seen! Today was a great way to honor the life and legacy of Kobe Bryant!

''First time I was getting ready to face Jordan. I had a teammate and he goes to me and said, “Hey, you want some advice? Whatever you do, don’t look him in the eye.” Wait, excuse me? Why the hell would I not look him in the eye? I don’t think my teammate understood that I’m that too. Can’t look me in the eye either, buddy. '' ーKobe Bryantー 1996. Kobe was an 18-year-old rookie. The opponent: Michael Jordan in his prime.🔥🔥🔥 Back then, Jordan’s stare was legendary. Players talked about it like a weapon. Don’t look him in the eye. You’ll fold before the game even starts. So a teammate warned young Kobe: “Whatever you do, don’t look him in the eye.” Most rookies would listen. Kobe didn’t. “Wait, excuse me? Why the hell would I not look him in the eye? I don’t think my teammate understood — I’m that too. Can’t look me in the eye either.” The talent gap was obvious. The mindset wasn’t. Kobe didn’t just refuse to be scared. He refused to accept the role of prey. That’s where Mamba Mentality starts. LeBron in MJ’s era? He’d be too shook to look him in the eye.

This isn’t believable to me. I saw Chance just before Christmas and, as usual, he had a beaming smile on his face, and was so happy with the work he was doing on Gen V. Playing his aunt on sabrina was like I had a brother on set with me. He was so cheeky and joined me in all the prank playing. And although we laughed a lot, you could have really deep and soulful conversations with Chance. Wise beyond his years. He was so warm and funny and good. I can’t believe I’m writing in the past tense. So many of us Sabrina cast and crew have been talking and texting, confused and in shock by the suddenness of his loss. I can’t even imagine what his family are going through. My heart breaks for them. RIP beautiful Chance. I just don’t know what happened; you’re meant to be here still🌷

Michael Wilbon has been in basketball for decades…. He has seen Magic, Bird, Jordan, Kobe, Kareem, Shaq, LeBron, Durant and etc …. Michael Wilbon is known for not kissing ass and not being fake like other analysts aka Dick Wright … who kisses LeBron’s behind…. Wilbon is known for being a straight shooter, no fake stuff … Listen to what he says ….. “I gotta say LeBron James is better than Kobe Bryant?” “Whattttttttttt? Put me in a grave first” You guys understand LeBron James is no where near the basketball player Kobe Bryant was.. world of difference. Kobe was way better than LeBron, not even close.. Klutch sports can’t get everyone on their check books …. Some keep it real and Klutch gets really mad they can’t control Wilbon. LeBron isn’t even better than Magic or Kareem …. LeBron is the greatest #2 with Pippen

5. DJ Turner is the first player in team history to wear number zero and says it has “more swag to it” than the number 20. “I think he has earned it,” said Coach Taylor. “I wouldn’t have done this for just anybody. I was open to the possibility because I think DJ represents a lot of the things we take great pride in. “I did apologize to Jessie Bates because Jessie had always wanted #3 and I would always hold off. DJ’s quote to me was ‘Jessie walked so I could run.’ I wasn’t ready to crack with Jessie, but over time (DJ) wore me down.”

Michael Cera only pretended to slap Rihanna’s butt, but camera angle made it look fake. He asked if he could go for real. Rihanna agreed, on the condition she slaps his face. Slap was so strong it cupped his ear. He laid down in his trailer for 30 minutes.

Shaquille O'Neal reveals he built his legendary mindset by stealing from Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, and Muhammad Ali "I was a thief. Let me explain. You see somebody that's doing better than you, and you would like to aspire to do them, steal what they're doing." "So for me, I stole Michael Jordan. I stole Magic Johnson. I stole Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. I stole Muhammad Ali. And I put it inside my brain, and I created me, Shaquille O'Neal."

For those who don’t like Blockie, I’ve got one for you that might change your mind: At the 2023 PGA where his life exploded, I followed him for ESPN in the final round (the one where he made the hole-in-one) and had the chance to speak to him on Sunday prior to the round when he was paired with Rory. Both he and his lovely wife Val gave me almost 20 minutes of their time and were so open and honest and offfered so many amazing stories I used on the air. No other person who was in his position with everything on the line would’ve done that. Nobody. I have also had him (and his son Dylan) on my podcast for Silver Club Golfing Society soon after that PGA and I didn’t have to jump through any hoops with his agent or anything. I even played a practice round with him at the ‘25 PGA Professional Championship and he couldn’t have been nicer. We all want athletes to speak their mind and let us in, and when they open up and say what’s on their mind they get ripped by social media. I don’t see the reason for the haters. My experience last have been nothing but 100% positive. Blockie is a star in my book.

Alex Collins was so special man. Amazing teammate and a guy everyone was down to kick it with. This man invited me and wifey out one time in Baltimore and I will never forget it. We show up to the spot and AC is no where to be found. We are looking around for him for 20 min and finally I feel a little nudge on my shoulder. I turnaround and AC is walking behind me, drops his shades to his nose and signals with his eyes to follow him. It was so funny and smooth, we forgot he was 20 min late. AC told us he had to be discreet because he couldn’t have everyone knowing he was there. The rest of the night, we found out why. Everywhere AC went that night everyone knew him. Everyone was excited to see him, laughing when he came around and showing him love. You see everyone loved this man and his energy was contagious. To end the night, he hit this dance with all the fans watching him on the dance floor. WHAT A NIGHT and WHAT A GUY AC WAS. Shared more laughs than people know and I’m blessed to have been your teammate my brother. Rest In Peace.

A year ago when I was still trying to figure out what was wrong with me, I would have weird muscle quivers all day. Here was one I caught in my hand just randomly. I’m the evenings I’d lie in bed and random muscle groups would fire for ten seconds or so and then stop. A couple minutes later another one. Just weird stuff.

My friend Gary Harris brought this musician named D'Angelo over to my NYC apt. He was trying to figure out what to do with the music he'd brought with him. I listened to every cut...not just out of respect but because it was smoking. At the end of the encounter he asked me, "What should I do with it?" I remember this as if it were yesterday. I said, "Put it out. It's perfect!" Being the #artist he is, I guess he had to explore some ways to make it better. About a year later I heard one of those songs on the radio. It was #genius and it was exactly what he had played for me. I know...I still have the original cassette. ~Nile Rodgers❤️🙏🏾✊🏾
