The app has a new name and icon: Herald, Companion for Hermes Agent. Still my unofficial app, now a lot closer to what you asked for. Here’s what changed 👇 Setup is much easier Run npx herald-setup on your computer. It configures Hermes, Tailscale, and a password. Scan the QR code and connect. You can also enter a Tailscale name, IP, or domain. Herald handles port and HTTPS detection. Pairing the same machine again updates it instead of creating duplicates, and the app handles signing back in after authentication errors. All your Bots in one place Connect multiple computers and see their Bots in one roster. Search across Bots, groups, and machines, with indicators showing who’s awake, working, or offline. Start a session in Telegram, your terminal, or Hermes Desktop and continue from your phone. Bots on different machines can join the same group, and the Kanban board now has activity badges. Photos, video, and audio inside the conversation Attach photos and they stay in the thread as thumbnails, even after you reopen the chat. An SVG your Bot drew, an MP3 it recorded, or a video it rendered now appears inline instead of as a file path. Tap to view full screen, share, or play directly in the chat. Media comes from your own Hermes and is cached on your phone. Finally, a proper chat UI for Hermes Agent (open-source)! Hermes ships an official dashboard, but it's primarily built for management, and its chat is just a terminal piped into a browser tab. Hermes Web UI is an open-source chat-first alternative. It's self-hosted and points at your existing ~/.hermes state, so there's nothing new to configure. - It's a native web chat, not a terminal in a tab - Sessions group by date with a context ring - Kanban renders the agent's task board - Spaces manages your workspaces - Skills panel lists the full catalog - Tasks panel shows cron jobs - Insights show usage and activity - Memory shows MEMORY and SOUL files - Logs tails the agent, gateway, and error logs The whole setup runs 100% locally, binds to localhost by default, and you reach it over an SSH tunnel or Tailscale from your phone. I have shared the Hermes Web UI GitHub repo in the replies. Do note that it's a community project, not official, so expect occasional rough edges (concurrent profile runs are blocked for now). THEY MESSAGE EACH OTHER. sessions mode: you open chats. you manage profiles. you switch between agents manually. bot mode: a roster of bots in the sidebar. click one. you're in its chat. each bot has a name, an avatar, a description, its own memory, skills, and SOUL.md. they can talk to each other. WHAT YOU GET: BOTS PANE: left sidebar shows every agent profile as a bot. avatar, latest message preview, timestamp. click a bot to open its chat. no profile switching. CREATE A BOT: name, title, description. done. advanced: clone from existing profile, pin a model, write SOUL.md, toggle skills. EDIT ANY TIME: right-click a bot. change avatar, title, description. edit its model, skills, toolsets, and SOUL.md live.
