Old dialogue is more grandiose, the new one is much more personal , both are pretty solid.

writing is fine i just don't know why he yells, old one was cool bc it was intimidating

voice direction aside, I do like the new lines more funnily enough, In the OG game its "generic bad guy" speak tbh, While in the Remake, Andross' taunting is more personal to Fox

This is actually a pretty good example of how old dialogue in videogames was charming and effective despite its simplicity, but with more modern games writers try to make it all "cool" but it comes off as unimpressive due to how derivative and sauceless it is

His voice was so menacing, now he sounds like generic villain no. 5743

Disagreed voice of the original is better I guess, but the actual dialogue in the remake is more personal targeted to Fox which it's better instead of generic big bad boss. Both are extremely cheesy(affectionate) tho

“Aura loss” because your childhood imagination from N64’s polygon graphics doesn’t exist in modern games? Larp alert if you think a dreaded dreamspace and oninicent god boss was supposed to be canon

Why does he sound so pissed off? He was oozing confidence before, at most he’s maybe just a little miffed that you have the gall to challenge him.

La verdad aunque el remake fue bastante bueno, las voces en ingles no estan a la altura de las originales Almenos en el doblaje latino se hizo un mejor trabajo .n.

The new dialogue is better but the OG voice acting is superior in every way

The voice acting is the biggest problem with the remake imo. Very bland.

It's weird because its one of the few vocal performances in the remake that appropriately hams it up but the direction they went with isnt as effective

no slander towards the va but god i hate the direction they're going with. it's so generic and "grrr i'm the big evil bad guy"-e

The writing isn't bad it's just the voice director seems to have fucked everything up

Star Fox 64 felt FAR more cartooney in the way it went about its writing Andross is kinda just sayin sum aura bs in 64 whereas in the new one hes personally attacking Fox to get under his skin and I think that adds a lot tbh!!

new voice sounds and delivers lines like Dr. Weird from Aqua teen Hunger Force

Yeah, even the fight itself lost that nightmarish disorienting effect found in the original. Plus, I’m not a fan of the music cutting out as you escape with James. Feels anti-climactic without the music

The biggest aura loss is the tunnel itself this is a situation where less is more as the detail takes away from the Mess of Wires look that the original had which on it's own is mildly unsettling

Not a fan of his shouting honestly, but his writing in the modern remake is damn good. Maybe his shouting is a sign of his insanity in isolation, but still.

Haven't play any of these games. The original sounds creepily calm, as if he sees himself as an unstoppable force. The new one sounds like Fox has been ruining his plans every Saturday and he's now "GGRRR!! I will get you now, Fox!"

What Aura loss? Andross voice in 64 is not good besides the laugh.

Disagree. This is more subjective than objectively. They both do their job of making him sound and look evil. You are just used to the old one

If the delivery was better I wouldn't have a problem with the new dialogue. The dark lighting and silhouette of Andross could actually make it feel more threatening but he's shouting for no reason.

I like both. I see no problem with slight changes from a 25 YEAR OLD GAME🙄 people need to get over themselves at times. It’s okay to have an opinion and share it, but somewhat bashing it is a loss of aura in itself.

yea, the new dialogue is more in line with Andross being cast out and i guess a battle with James
