What on earth have I just listened to? 🤦‍♂️ BBC Breakfast actually took Yvette Cooper to task this morning over the government’s plan for nearly 200 walk-in mental health centres and dedicated mental health A&Es by 2029, in banks, libraries and hospitals… but with no extra staff. Her response perfectly sums up this clueless Labour government. BBC: “So you’d understand then that people might question how much progress could be made given there’ll be no extra recruitment even though there are going to be so many more facilities. That doesn’t seem to make sense?” Cooper: “Getting people to work differently means you can work better.” What?? What does that even mean? It’s a completely meaningless statement. No wonder people are cracking up listening to this lot every day. She also said mental health funding is rising to an astonishing £16 billion this year, yet we seem to have more mental health problems than ever. So what on earth is going on? Time for a rethink!
