Andy Green says that Jared Young will play "pretty consistently" at first base moving forward: "He's locking down kind of the lion's share of at-bats over there."

Andy Green you’ve officially earned my respect.

@aschorling34 Less Vientos is a good thing.

@SNYtv Someone with eyes. As much as people say Mendoza wasn’t at fault, he decided to roll out Vientos every day at 1st.

@SNYtv Young earned this spot. Vientos should be sent down like Alvy was last year

Thank you Andy

Sounds like an indictment of Mendy's lefty/ righty obsession!

Jared is the only true 1B the Mets have

@SNYtv Good. No Vientos

He's managed one game as Mets manager (a loss), and he's already decided. Is Green or Stearns making these decisions?

@SNYtv Jared Young is a great defender at first base and has earned playing time. Becoming a big fan - great attitude and drive to play well.

about time someone wised up to keep Young at 1B

@SNYtv This is such an indictment on Vientos

Finally a manager who is decisive. Maybe it will help turn the ship around. Can’t be worst than it is now.

"Swaggy V" better be packing his bags.

Imagine replacing your club record holder in HR with the guy who was the last one not to get cut from spring training. Great job Stearns.

1 game in…. The manager has made a decision @PhilFromShirley

@SNYtv No-brainer. Glue Vientos to the bench.

For all those who insisted that Mendy was told to implement the lefty/righty lineups, Andy Green has abandoned the platoon on the first day. Mendy was obsessed with lefty/righty decisions, leading to major mismatches.

But everyone keeps telling me mendy didnt make the lineups??

@SNYtv The failures of Vientos and Baty are just staggering. Neither can hit enough to stick in a lineup and Vientos is a total butcher in the field. The “young” core of a few years ago has been such a bummer.

Good vientos and baty Need to be traded for some guac and chips

Mendoza treated the lineup like little league. Andy Green knows to keep the consistent so guys can settle in.

Young should be - and should have been - starting every single day. Vientos should never EVER be fielding.

@SNYtv Andy green manager of the year

Vientos or Young at first? No brainer on Young. I even trust him at the plate more than Vientos at this point.

@SNYtv STOP STARTING BRETT BATY EVERY FUCKING GAME!!!!!!!!!! 1 OF THE WORST PLAYERS IN BASEBALL! LINDOR IS BACK, BENCH BATY! PLAY MAURICIO!!!!!

@SNYtv Mendy would never

You used Senga instead of cutting him in a critical spot. You should be fired immediately!!!

"I'm liking Young so much so, that I am starting Wagaman @ 1B tomorrow"...WTF...?? Seriously

Thank god... Vientos only DH against lefties

Except today??? 😂🙄

Nice !!!!’ And thank you !!! Please manage with you’re eyes 🙏 the Vientos circus 🤡 show at first can end ,, I don’t think you’ll be upsetting many fans at all

@mariamb18 Yeah Vientos should never play first again unless is an emergency

Still talking the same way he did as the pads skipper. “I’d be a fool…” just answer the question bro

@SNYtv Jared young has only been back a few weeks and he already is a better all around player than vientos 😂😂😂
