Great job! I had a similar thing built, as I wanted realtime data without waiting for hours for ASC, and now I don't need to maintain it anymore :). It's so easy to win over ASC, all you need to do is to show a realtime chart, and not log user out 3x per day :). Congrats!

Iโ€™ve tried to set up revenue tracking, by setting up the revenuecat integration, but still it shows all revenue as zero Any idea how to fix this?

When you pay sales tax, your money goes up to Ottawa and Queenโ€™s Park. Iโ€™m moving a motion for Toronto to finally receive a share of the HST, to invest in the services you rely on here in your city, every day. Please sign the petition: Itโ€™s budget season again in Toronto and the cracks are showing between the Cityโ€™s revenue and the services that the City is expected to provide. For decades, provincial and federal governments have downloaded responsibilities to the City including roads, shelters, courts, daycare, public health and more. Today, approximately 27% of Torontoโ€™s property tax revenue is spent funding extensions of federal and provincial responsibilities. But even as Toronto is told to take on more, the province prescribes what revenue tools are available to the City, and has restricted them almost exclusively to taxes on property. Toronto is one of Canadaโ€™s primary economic engines. The Toronto region generates 20% of the national GDP, 20% of Ontarioโ€™s jobs, and attracts more than 28 million annual visitors. This level of economic activity is enabled by the investments our city has made in social and civic infrastructure, including affordable housing, public health, roads and transit. We host people from across the country and around the world at events like Taylor Swift concerts, the World Series, and the FIFA games, which generates tens of millions of dollars in tax revenue for the provincial and federal governments. Meanwhile, the City shoulders the costs of additional policing, emergency services, transit, and crowd management that make these events possible. The math doesnโ€™t work. Without any other source of revenue, municipalities have been forced to hike property taxes, cut vital services and delay critical infrastructure investments just to stay afloat. If Toronto is expected to continue driving national prosperity, it must be granted access to revenue tools that are predictable, reflect our investments, and grow with the economy. No more โ€œnew dealsโ€. No more begging for one-time ad hoc program funding. Itโ€™s time for Toronto to have a fair share of the HST.

Here is how Marc could improve the landing page: First, even tho the initial audience was Indie Makers, it's not the one that brings the most $$ (as per Marc). So, we need to make it super clear who is the landing page for. The "problem" is that there are multiple audiences, and we can't niche down the main landing page yet. It means the main landing will be more generalist to appeal to more people, but will be slightly less impactful as a result. The solution for this is to create multiple landing pages for specific audiences with super precise headlines For our general landing page, we want: - What is it - Who is this for - Make it clear what the main benefits are What is it -> Analytics app Who is this for -> Online businesses Main benefit -> Simple to use/setup (no code), accurate revenue tracking, it's modern, unlike what they use at the moment (Google Analytics) Headline: - "Modern analytics for online businesses" (if we position against Google Analytics and other bloated apps) - "Easy analytics for online businesses" ๐Ÿ‘‰ You might want to A/B test them eventually Now, it would be even BETTER if we had data on WHY they want to track revenues (ex: Measure ROI, find opportunities, etc), but for now, we can stay generic and then test different ones later As for the audience-specific landing pages, you can mention the name of the audience directly to make it relevant to them: - The analytics platform for marketplaces - The analytics platform for course creators - etc... Subheadline: - Accurate revenue tracking without a line of code Bullet points (all 3): - Integrates with 50+ platforms - Accurate revenue tracking & funnels - Setup in 5 minutes Call to action: - "Start 14-day trial" implies a payment will be needed, which creates friction at some point - Better have something neutral ("Start For Free", "Get Started Now") or action-focused (in this case "Create your project" or "Setup my website") Then we have the big image section. Right now, it occupies lots of space and provide little value. What would be better here is to either have an interactive embedding or a video showcasing the main features of the app. And in both case, you want to make it smaller, and interactive As for the signup page: Right now it's very austere, and the video on the left side catch the attention more than the form. I showed examples in the video, but you want to have a step by step guided onboarding that doesn't feel like people are creating accounts. No one like creating accounts, it creates additional friction. So I would start by asking the website URL, THEN ask for the email (and no need for email verification, just create the account and log them in automatically). That way you remove friction and then can jump straight to installing the code snippet (which is the point where they start getting value from the product) Obviously there is waaaaaay more things to do, and ultimately, especially since I don't have all the relevant data What I mentioned above are mainly good practices, and you will want to talk with users, A/B test and see what works the best :)

Interesting turn of events with Nancy Guthrie case (mother of NBC host kidnapping) The woman the FBI got the Nest camera footage from didnโ€™t have a Premium subscription Yet without a subscription, even being disabled, it was able to record and store footage โ€œWe are tracked, they are listening, they are watching, we are being recordedโ€ Whatโ€™s happening is even if you donโ€™t have a subscription Google is recording and storing the footage from your doorbell camera, but you can only access it without a subscription You think itโ€™s not being recorded and stored, but it isโ€ฆ. Even with the camera disabled, it was recording footage and able to be recoveredโ€ฆ โ€œNancy Guthrie had a Nest camera, which is owned by Google, and law enforcement initially believed the doorbell footage was lost and said Nancy Guthrie did not have a premium subscription to access video from her doorbell camera โ€” Now, according to Google, if a Nest camera is disabled, it can still record up to three hours of event video history without a subscription. So many are wondering, why did it take so long for this video to be released? Well, it takes time for authorities to basically recover this video from Google servers, since Nancy Guthrie did not have a premium subscription that offers special features for video history. And essentially, video is continuously recorded and saved with a subscription, but without a subscription, video is saved until it's overwritten. In this case, they thought because there was no subscription, it would have been erased and recorded over because it would be sort of a continuous situation. And then that's the real issue here. Look, we live in a surveillance economy and as much as we'd like to think that we can delete things and things will go away, and there are some apps that in fact make things go away, the truth of the matter is that we are tracked, They are listening, they are watching, we are being recorded.โ€

โ€ผ๏ธJUST NOW โ€” powerful brief remarks by the leaders of Ukraine, the UK, France, and Germany in London: IN SHORT: Merz: โ€œThe coming days could be decisive for all of us. The destiny of this country is the destiny of Europe. Nobody should doubt our support for Ukraine. And this is what we are firmly standing behind. I'm skeptical about some of the details which we are seeing in the documents coming from the U.S. side.โ€ Macron: "I think we have a lot of cards in our hands." Zelenskyy: "Our team came back, and I think that they will brief us about the last talks with Americans and after talks of Americans with Russians." Starmer: "If there's to be a ceasefire, it needs to be a just and lasting ceasefire. Matters about Ukraine are for Ukraine." FULL STATEMENTS: UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer: "But the principles remain, the principles that we've operated on for a very, very long time, which is that we stand with Ukraine, and if there's to be a ceasefire, it needs to be a just and lasting ceasefire. And that's why it's so important, that we repeatedly set out the principle forward that matters about Ukraine are for Ukraine. And we stand here to support you in the conflict and support you in the negotiations and make sure that this is a just and lasting settlement if we can get that far. You're very welcome for our discussions". President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy: "Thank you very much, Kir. Thank you for organizing this meeting. Thank you, friends, Emmanuel and Friedrich, and thank you for our joint meeting. I think that it is very important now to organize such a meeting and discuss very sensitive issues regarding these talks that we had, in the United States and between us. Our team came back, and I think that they will brief us about the last talks with Americans and after talks of Americans with Russians. I think there are lot of what we have to discuss and speak about. So there are a lot of things which are very important for today. I think, unity between Europe and Ukraine, and also unity between Europe, Ukraine, and the U.S. There are some things which we can't manage without Americans, things which we can't manage without Europe, and that's why we need to make some important decisions". President of France Emmanuel Macron: "And thank you Volodymyr for being with us. You are always welcome. In France, I think we all support Ukraine, and we all support peace. And peace negotiations to have sustainable, robust peace. And I think we have a lot of cards in our hands. The financing and the quality of equipments and training programs to Ukraine, the fact that Ukraine is resisting in this war, and the fact that the Russian economy is starting to suffer, especially after our latest sanctions and the US sanctions. And now I think the main issue is the convergence between our common positions, Europeans and Ukrainians, and the U.S. to finalize these, peace negotiations and re-engage in a new phase in the best possible conditions for Ukraine, for the Europeans, and for our collective security". Chancellor of Germany Friedrich Merz: "I highly appreciate that we are having the opportunity to see you, Volodymyr, together with Emmanuel, and talking about the upcoming days, because this could be a decisive time for all of us. We are trying to continue our support for Ukraine, as you know. On the other hand, we are seeing these talks and negotiations in Moscow and in the U.S. I'm looking forward to hear from you what the outcome of these talks might be. And we are still and remain strongly behind Ukraine and giving support to your country, because we all know that the destiny of this country is the destiny of Europe. So that's the reason why we are here, trying to figure out what we can do. And nobody should doubt on our support for Ukraine. And this is what we are firmly standing behind. And the outcome is open. I'm skeptical about some of the details which we are seeing in the documents coming from the U.S. side, but we have to talk about that. That's why we are here".

Pylon's ๐—บ๐—ผ๐˜€๐˜ ๐—ต๐—ฎ๐˜๐—ฒ๐—ฑ ๐—ณ๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜๐˜‚๐—ฟ๐—ฒ is our Analytics. That ends today. We've completely rebuilt our Analytics from scratch. Here's what we tried, what we screwed up, and what's coming. ๐—ฉ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐Ÿญ, The Basics (Nov 2023) Our first attempt at analytics was quite loved by customers. At the time our customers were mostly small startups with simple needs. We built an out-of-the-box set of dashboards that covered the common use cases of support analytics (SLA-tracking, CSAT, TTFR, TTR, basic filtering...). As we moved upmarket... 1/ Everyone was requesting custom metrics 2/ Queries were becoming inefficient and slow We needed an upgrade. ๐—ฉ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐Ÿฎ, Advanced Reporting (June 2024) We knew custom reporting was going to be blackhole of work that long-term led to fully customer-customizable dashboards. We had four choices: 1/ Do nothing for now 2/ Do custom work per customer 3/ Build full custom reporting in-house 4/ Use an embeddable analytics vendor At the time Pylon was under 10 people total and we had no capacity to do the frontend work so we chose Option 4 (use a vendor). This was the first time we chose to not build a core feature like this in-house as we ultimately want full control of the end-user experience. We built out the new reporting with the chosen vendor over ~3 weeks. On the surface the new reporting looked really good (not visually, but in terms of functionality). You could add custom charts of any type, create custom formulas, label the Y and X axis, and effectively build most of what you would want. It was really great for demos. But in practice it was incredibly hard to use, lacked core capabilities (like the ability to filter off of dynamic custom fields), and visually looked not stylized to the rest of the product. We started to discover some of these issues during the implementation, but it still felt like there was more upside than downside so we released it. Feedback was not great but we hoped our vendor would fix changes quickly. Unfortunately they weren't fast enough and we lost confidence that they would be a good long-term solution. As a stop-gap we also built out a data warehouse integration so customers could export their data back to Snowflake or BigQuery to use with their own BI tools. Finally, a few months ago the vendor told us they were being acquired. That was the final straw. We needed to move off ASAP. ๐—ฉ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐Ÿฏ, New Reporting (Today) Today's release is back to being built entirely in-house. It's been rolled out in beta to all customers with an option to flip back to old analytics until we plug some custom reporting gaps. This time we have the capacity to do it right between Wendy (prev product design at Amplitude), Matt, and Tom. We've managed to greatly improve: 1/ Desired filter options (custom field support) 2/ Performance 3/ Setup UX 4/ Style (looks native) Early feedback has been really positive so far and as we bring it out of beta we're thinking about how to make the best natively-offered reporting of any support platform. ๐—ฉ๐—ฒ๐—ฟ๐˜€๐—ถ๐—ผ๐—ป ๐Ÿฐ (What's coming soon) To get to first-class reporting, we need to study not only our learnings, but also what the incumbents have screwed up as well. Funny enough, Zendesk's analytics have similar complaints to our v2, and for the exact same reason as we did: they integrated an external tool. In 2015 they bought a company called BIME Analytics which they became Zendesk Explore. The complaints they have to this day are similar to our v2: 1/ Steep learning curve 2/ Advanced, yet still not enough flexibility 3/ Random feature gaps 4/ Data accuracy and reliability concerns 5/ Performance issues 6/ Complicated UX v4 will follow three core principals: Offer a simple default setup. We want to continue being startup friendly and we'll feature gate custom reporting and data exports by tier in the product. Offer maximal configuration, with AI-assisted setup. As we go upmarket, customers will want to Explore (pun intended) data in every single direction. We need to allow them to do that. For those more complicated use cases we think AI will be the Ultimate (also pun intended) way to reduce setup friction. Build it all in-house. Although using a 3rd party embedded analytics provider didn't work for us, we don't think that is the case for everyone. It's just in customer support, reporting is REALLY important. They are probably some of the highest-complexity reporting of most SaaS vendors (maybe second to marketing products). So... we have to do it right. And since this is end-user facing, we have to own every detail of it. If you got this far, thank you for reading. See our new Analytics at

New Turning Point video shows exactly why Charlie Kirk was the greatest CEO in the history of grassroots political organizations. Take just two minutes to watch this. These are the words of a transformational leader: โ€œWell, you [Turning Point staff] are about to embark on something that is much bigger than yourself. So check your ego at the door. This is not about you, okay? I donโ€™t care about your feelings. If youโ€™re having a bad day, you know, go figure that out yourself. This is about us. This is about the country. And the eyes of the whole nation are, again, on Turning Point. โ€œWe do the best events in the movement. In fact, we do the only event. Are there any other events in the movement? No. Weโ€™ve kind of put everyone else out of business, right? So we are the only standard of excellence. And so we hold ourselves to a higher standard. We donโ€™t do mediocre around here. We try to raise the level of excellence because we are constantly trying to push the conservative movement and the country to a place itโ€™s never been before. โ€œYou guys know this. Turning Point USA is the most important organization in the country, period. Find me another organization thatโ€™s been able to move millions of people the way that we have, that does the events, that does training. Nobody does what we do at Turning Point USA, but it starts with all of you. Weโ€™re building something bigger than you, bigger than me. โ€œWeโ€™re building an experience to help save the country. And if this type of intensity bothers you, well, then, donโ€™t go work for Turning Point USA. You can go work for the Department of Labor or something, okay? Because here we do excellent things. We do big things. We make history here at Turning Point USA. โ€œItโ€™s going to be early mornings. Itโ€™s going to be late nights, but you all get to know that youโ€™re doing something rewarding that is not just, oh, a career. And you check the box, but lives will be changed. How blessed are we that we get to be here celebrating the country. And this is our job. Itโ€™s pretty awesome. โ€œThereโ€™s the one thing that I hear from speakers throughout all the years. Your team is so impressive and theyโ€™re so young. Why is it everybody? Because for us, we hold ourselves to a higher standard. This is not just another DC gig. This is about saving Western civilization. โ€œWe are the most important organization in the country. You are part of it. Itโ€™s something bigger than all of us, and it will have ramifications across the country. Iโ€™m so thankful for you guys. You guys have really defied gravity. And letโ€™s continue to make history here.โ€
