There’s a verse in the Bible about building a house on sand.

I'm from the area. This always happens in the Outer Banks. People build these cheap yet expensive houses directly on the beach, completely exposed to the elements on all sides. That's why the house was on stilts. Not only do houses wash away, so does the highway. All the time.

I often wonder why people build so close to coastal waters?
