The woman, whose name was not released, was driving east on New Durham Road in Edison when her SUV left the road, according to police. “The vehicle became airborne, entered Talmadge Road, and collided with a flatbed tractor trailer that was traveling on Talmadge Road,” Edison Police Chief Thomas Bryan said in a statement. The woman’s SUV traveled under the tractor trailer, resulting in “catastrophic damage,” Bryan said. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene around 3:24 p.m., the chief said.
