This seafood boil restaurant has had too many instances of dining and dashing. It is now their policy that the customer pays first right after ordering. Now the new scam for people there is that they eat some of their food, but they complain that the food was bad so they can try to get a refund. Seems like this location can never win, if it’s not one scam it’s another. Even though nobody else has complained that the food was spoiled, should they just refund her anyways?

An extraordinary claim from Chris Hipkins this morning during his interview on Herald Now: it is impossible for economists to model the key behavioural effect Labour attributes to its Capital Gains Tax — shifting people away from property and into productive investment. Hipkins and Labour routinely champion this shift as one of the major benefits of their CGT. Yet they appear to have no idea when — or even whether — it will actually occur. Governments and economists routinely model behavioural responses to tax changes, including investment elasticities, deadweight losses, and risks of capital flight. NZ’s own Inland Revenue Department, Treasury, and previous Tax Working Groups have done precisely that for measures like the bright-line test and other tax tweaks. Australia, meanwhile, has extensive modelling on negative gearing and CGT discount reforms, which directly influence the relative attractiveness of rental property versus other assets such as shares and businesses. For Hipkins to claim such modelling is impossible is an absolute cop-out and is deeply concerning. At minimum, it should be a major red flag for voters. Labour has had two and a half years to develop its policy. In that time, it has apparently failed to find even a single economist anywhere in the world capable of modelling the central claim on which it is now running a major part of its election platform. Come on.

It’s time that New Zealand got a grip, and finally looked beyond the two big loser parties. 2026 is time for NZFirst to be largest party in the CR coalition. It’s no longer a choice between the left and the right, it’s a choice between Labour Marxist globalist gronks, National soft cock globalist gimps or a party that believes in our country, is not progressive hogwash and is led by New Zealand’s iconic nationalist. National is collapsing - and it’s all their own doing, changing the leader won’t help, it’s the party’s culture… indifferent ineffective pansy politicians. The choice is NOT to vote for Labour they are of course worse, but National and Labour are by far the most philosophically aligned parties. What needs to happen is to change the composition of the CR - with NZFirst the largest party, we have MMP this is doable. We cannot survive another term of that flop Luxon, or anyone else from that junk ass party, they only deserve to be a support party in coalition while they get reorientated, rehabilitated and have their globalist traits beaten out of them. Make WP PM in 2026.

Seems he was correct. And separate from that, having an unsecured service weapon in the home while off duty, when it’s not on her person or under her control, means it’s required to be secured. Leaving it unsecured in a bedroom raises serious safe storage concerns under Massachusetts law and likely violates department policy as well.

This woman lives in an HOA. The back of her yard backs up into an easement that is owned by the HOA. The trees back there are on the easement. She points out that there are fallen branches all over her neighbors yard because of the trees and there were many in her yard as well. So she and her children went and picked up all the branches and sticks in her yard and then she piled them up under the tree. She said since the tree is on the HOA easement, it’s their problem. She wants to know if she is the bad guy in all this. If it were me, I’d maintain my yard and put the branches and sticks out for the trash pickup. Do you think she is in the right and it’s the HOA’s problem? Or do you think she is wrong and is making a mountain out of a molehill and there are better hills to plant your flag on?

I’m a Democrat because I feel like it’s the best vehicle to unite working people — but if the party is not doing that, I have no problem calling it out. In Texas, we have been suffering for 30 years under one-party rule. One-party rule always leads to extremism and corruption because there’s not a check on that power. We have the opportunity to finally end 30 years of one-party rule in Texas. If we do that, I think it’s gonna improve public policy for all of us.
