Another example of a quick, throwaway visual tool that I vibecoded to explore an idea (this time with Claude Fable). It exports video loops, and I can play around with colour, grain, direction... Took around 5 prompts and gave me a massive head start on a brand identity direction.

Tried something new today. I made a character based environment and color direction board. First extracting the character’s palette, then translating it into an environment palette, and finally mapping where those colors should appear on the background, midground, foreground, lighting, shadows, and accents. Hard to tell if it’s fully working in this clip, and this might not be the best example, so I’ll test it again with a different style and a longer video, perhaps. This is just me overcomplicating things, 100% not needed. You can get same results with simple prompts and random environments. Prompts below.

Here is the tool I built yesterday in Claude code in maybe 10-20 minutes? It truly baffles me when people say “the AI bubble” this simple tool would’ve took devs 2-5 days and would have cost me 500$-1000$ Claude code made it for me on a 20$ monthly subscription, and a free Gemini api key. I actually want to preform an experiment asking developers how much they would charge for such a tool to get a consensus on how much money Claude Code has saved me.

Claude Mobile starts the idea... Ghostty finishes it I basically use Claude Mobile as a notepad now. Whenever something comes to mind, I open the app, pick a repo, and ask Claude to start exploring. Then I just let it run while I go on with my day. Later I jump into Claude Desktop and I’m right back in the same session, with context, structure, and a clearer shape of the idea. I tweak a few things to set up the coding phase. Finally, one click to Ghostty (video), open a couple of worktrees, and start working on the PR. IMPORTANT: when you move to Ghostty, it must be the exact same repo you started on mobile, otherwise the --teleport command will fail

today’s experiment: chimera. a little tool that let’s you realtime morph through a design system matrix generated by 4 reference images. this one was inspired by listening to techbimbo talk about her process on Dive Club with Ridd 🤿 and How I AI with claire vo 🖤. her approach to choosing moodboards over prompts made me wonder what might be possible if we applied that same approach to generative UI. and after a few dead ends, the idea turned into chimera. the results are very generic at the moment but I might tune it up if people seem interested. the big reminder for me is how much more inspiring a tool feels when you can explore in realtime instead of waiting for results every time you make a change. lots more things to try in that direction.

For the teaser, I took the UI component, masked it and just resized and moved the mask around the screen in tandem with the glass frame. Noah Levin suggested we tease the light direction icon. It took a few tries to get just right, and in one take. 😅
