There is no bigger mockery of Pahalgam victims and India's armed forces than to suggest that the Indian team gave a strong answer to Pakistan in a cricket match. If I had lost someone in that terrorist attack, I'd be furious with people lauding the Indian captain for dedicating a cricket win to India's armed forces. It was a facade. Last night, the Pakistani team fueled that jingoism with their gestures, and made it worse. The Indian government could have simply decided to not play Pakistan. But what's more important, clearly, is milking money in the name of nationalism. After all, it's the economy, stupid.
