Another floor crosser! A healthy democracy needs balance. It needs opposition. It needs debate. It needs accountability. When any government moves toward a full majority without voters actually returning to the ballot box, something important starts to shift. Power concentrates, scrutiny weakens, and ordinary Canadians feel further removed from...

The United States IS NOT a democracy, so quit calling it one and correct anyone who uses that word! A democracy is a political system in which people periodically by majority vote, at the poll, select their rulers. The rulers then have absolute power to make whatever laws they please buy majority vote among themselves. In a constitutional republic, the people also by majority voters, at the polls, select rulers who make laws by a majority vote among themselves. But the rulers cannot make any laws they please, because the constitution severely restricts their law making power. The ideal of a democracy is universal equality. The idea of a constitutional republic is individual liberty. In this century, great strides have been made towards the goal of subverting our republic and transforming it into a democracy. The foremost tactic of subverters is subversion of language. By calling America a “democracy” until people thoughtlessly accept and use the term. Totalitarians have obscured the real meaning of American principles of government. Writers of the constitution were anxious to safeguard liberty against dictatorship … monarchy they called it. But their chief anxiety was to protect this country against democracy. Edmund Randolph, delicate to the constitutional convention from Virginia, said the general object of the convention was to provide a cure for the follies and fury of democracy. Eldridge Gary and Roger Sherman, delicates from Massachusetts and Connecticut, urged the constitutional convention to create a system to eliminate the evils that flow from the excess of democracy. Alexander Hamilton, the delicate from New York, said we are now forming a Republican government … “real liberty is not found in democracy. If we incline too much to democracy, we shall soon shoot into a monarchy.” John Adams, one of the Giants of the American Revolutionary, said “democracy will envy all, contend with all, endeavor to pull down all, and when by chance it happens to get the upper hand for a short time, democracy will be revengeful, bloody, and cruel.” America was founded not as a democracy, but as a constitutional republic. We pledge allegiance to the republic for which our flag stands, not to a democracy. The constitution requires a republican form of government for all states, but does not mention democracy, and neither does the Declaration of Independence or the Bill of Rights. Foreman asked him (Franklin) what kind of government the convention had given America, and Franklin replied, “a republic, if you can keep it.” Very old and very wise, Franklin saw through the mist of time to the day when Americans might trade their freedom in a constitutional republic for the promise of government guaranteed equality and security in a democracy, and beyond that to the day when democracy inevitably degenerates into dictatorship … guaranteeing nothing but poverty and serfdom for the people it robs and rules.

Tucker Carlson Drops F-Bomb In Fiery Take on The Joe Rogan Experience “If I get another f*cking lecture from Joe Scarborough (MSNBC) about ‘defending democracy’... then I’m going to go crazy.” Tucker says the system is “not even a close approximation of a democracy” because “When they stand up and pass a $60 billion funding bill for Ukraine, when 70% of the population doesn’t want it, when they’re ignoring the actual problems in our country, like the economy and the border, and they’re hauling in Congress over the weekend to pass something that people don’t want while ignoring the things that people do want. And if they do the same kind of thing again and again for, like, 50 years, and they call it a democracy, that will drive you insane because it’s just too dishonest.” Tucker Carlson urged them to stop lying about our “democracy” because this is how the government really works: “Why not just say, ‘We don’t give a shit what you want. We are getting something out of this Ukraine funding, whether it’s the thrill of being masters of the universe or whether it’s money from the defense contractors, whatever we’re getting out of it is more important to us than your opinion. This is not self-government. You don’t run this country. We do. Shut up and obey.’ If they at least said that, you’d be like, ‘Okay, I get it. Those are the terms.’ But if I get another f*cking lecture from Joe Scarborough about ‘defending democracy’ when this is not a democracy, it’s not even a close approximation of a democracy, then I’m going to go crazy because I just can’t deal with the lying.”
