NEWS: BYD today ‌unveiled its second-generation Blade Battery with "Flash Charging 2.0" • LFP • Peak charging speed: 1,500kW • 20% to 97% charge in under 12 minutes, even at -20°C (-4°F) • Charges 10% to 70% in 5 mins • 5% higher energy density • BYD has increased the guaranteed capacity retention rate by 2.5% and promised a lifetime warranty on the battery cells • Delivers a driving range of up to 1,006 km (621 miles) on the (optimistic) CLTC cycle, an improvement from the ~600 km (373 miles) range in the first-generation Blade Battery. The new battery would likely mean a 450 mile range if tested on the EPA cycle. • Ten BYD models will be the first to feature the battery • The Yangwang U7, equipped with a 150-kWh battery pack, "achieves a pure electric range of 1,006 km, while the fully electric Denza Z9GT have a range of up to 1,036 km" on CLTC cycle. BYD also aims to expand its "Flash Charging" network to 20,000 stations by the end of 2026, including 2,000 on highways. The company had built more than 4,000 stations as of March 5. However, keep in mind that in the past BYD has been slow to roll out promised ultra fast charging infrastructure expansion.

People always love to ask, "What are you going to do when the battery goes on your Tesla?" This 2019 Model 3 RWD owned by Eric @ Drive Protected ™ still had the ORIGINAL battery and rear motor after 381,000 miles (613,000 km). Even after all those miles, the battery retained 70% capacity. He decided to bring new life to the car by swapping the original NCA pack for a modern LFP pack from a newer Model 3. The original pack was still perfectly functional, the swap was just for performance. Swapping a battery in a Tesla is much quicker than people think. In just a few hours, the orginal battery was removed then replaced with a LFP pack. Once configured via the computer, the car is perfectly functional. There’s no huge mess, not a lot of wires, it’s actually very simple once you are experienced with it. His Model 3 now functions and charges like a newer car. Tesla vehicles are designed from the ground up to be very serviceable.

Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, in a remarkable gesture, first warmly shook hands with the top PTI leadership followed by an offer to open unconditional dialogue with the PTI on matters that also include cases against Imran Khan and his prison condition. This is an immense development that deserves a positive response from the PTI. This could be a great beginning for a journey to restore political sanity and rejuvenate economic development in Pakistan. We must not let this opportunity slip away.

NEW DRONE: the most efficient drone ever made! Luke Maximo Bell, a content creator from South Africa, documents how his father-son team set the Guinness record for the longest flight by an electric multirotor! 4 hours, 21 minutes, 39 seconds on a single charge, it beat the previous official record of 3 hours 12 minutes. Tech specs. The aircraft is a lightweight 3D-printed quadcopter that crawls forward at ~5.5 m/s (12 mph), drawing only ~450–500 W, carried by a single ~5 kg SMC semi-solid-state battery pack rated at 380 Wh/kg. Flown on an open-source ArduPilot / CubePilot Cube stack with RTK GPS for centimetre station-keeping. It reused the T-Motor MN10590 KV motors and 40-inch T-Motor G40 props from its predecessor unchanged. I find it interesting that the same two-person team holds both the fastest and the longest-flying electric multirotor records, opposite extremes of the same physics. Their Peregreen 4 hit 657 km/h (408 mph) in January 2026, a record they took back from a rival and one that surpasses Rolls-Royce's fastest-electric-aircraft mark, now the endurance crown at 4h21m. The load-bearing component is an SMC semi-solid-state pack at 380 Wh/kg, up from the Tattu semi-solid-state NMC packs (~320 Wh/kg) that ran two-in-parallel on version 1. Version 2 flies a single 87 Ah, ~5 kg SMC pack. The SMC pack is heavier, but its higher energy density makes the optimal all-up weight land around 5 kg anyway, and the flight-time jump tracks the energy-density jump worth it. Also interesting imho: the record's binding constraint turned out to be vibration, not battery or aerodynamics. The 40-inch props shook the airframe hard enough that the "vibes" clipped the IMU on the flight controller, breaking autonomous flight entirely (constant starts, stops and errors). It was fixed only by swapping to a Cube Orange Plus flight controller with a dampened, vibration-isolated IMU stack (mounted on 3D-printed TPU) plus a front spar to stiffen the arms. Same motors, same props, same airframe as version 1, so the entire gain came from the battery, the vibration fix and tuning.

FT Spurs 2-0 Brentford Finally a great win at home and a very good one it was to. The fans so deserved this win coupled with Arsenal losing it’s been a great day for us. You can’t fault the performance and the team effort but if you’re trying to I can’t help you. No mention of XG today thankfully. We were aggressive in the tackle fought for every 1st and second ball we were so strong in the challenge playing on the front foot. Our passing was crisp and swift. Xavi had a great MoM game with a lovely assist and a great run and finish. Richarlison has done so well today with the press and his passing and hold up and that’s another goal for him. Thought Bentancur had been excellent with Archie Gray in the middle. Micky’s tackling today has been absolutely on fire. Kudus has been excellent on the ball and finally DJed did well but should have buried his chance. Let’s keep this going happy days at last I’m going to enjoy the weekend. #COYS 🤍💙

This dad and husband gave his house the best upgrade ever. 💯 He planted his very own flag pole so he could run Old Glory up to the top. 🇺🇸 It comes with a solar light at the top so he doesn’t have to take it down at night. That is a cool, telescoping flag pole. Guess I didn’t know they made flag poles like that. That’s an awesome looking. Leans a tad to the right but he’ll be okay. That’s the flag that came with the kit. He said he’s getting a bigger flag! Heck yeah! 👏 I’ve been wanting to install a flag pole. I’ll have to give this a look. Do you have a flag pole in your yard?
