Samarthak, the first ship of the indigenously designed and constructed Multi Purpose Vessel (MPV) project, was launched at L&T Shipyard, Kattupalli on #14Oct 24. The vessel was launched by Mrs Shashi Tripathi, President #NWWA, in the presence of Adm Dinesh K Tripathi, #CNS. New milestone achieved! ✔️ The first C295 Maritime Surveillance Aircraft (MSA) for Spain has rolled-out from our Final Assembly Line in Seville 🇪🇸 and has entered the development and certification testing phase towards its first flight, scheduled before the end of the year. This is the first C295 MSA out of 8 that Spain will receive from 2026 onwards and which will be key to increase and enhance the Spanish Air and Space Force maritime surveillance, reconnaissance and search and rescue capabilities. These new aircraft will be the natural replacement for the CN-235 VIGMA fleet in service with the Ejército del Aire y del Espacio since 2008. The C295 MSA will be primarily equipped for maritime and overland operations such as anti-smuggling and anti-drug trafficking operations, as well as national and international search-and-rescue missions.

This pistachio tree (Pistacia atlantica) is reputed to be the oldest tree in Cyprus at about 1,500 years of age, and was recognised as such in 2004 by being given protected status by the Cyprus Department of Forests. However, it is under threat from an adjacent road construction project, with no obvious protection from excavation harm. If it dies because of these works, it will be the loss of an irreplaceable natural heritage asset, and makes its government protected status a mockery.
