wowwow Holy Shit I let Opus 4.7 pick any art on my computer they'd like to use as a starting frame for an animation, and then prompt gptimage2 for animation frames however they'd like to make a 100 frame animation here was the result note - gptimage2 only made 4 images, each one was a 5x5 grid of frames, so that totals to 100

Working on improving Hoolis' "Deaths" with more anims, giving them more variety, since we had only one animation before. So far we're really happy with the explosive behavior! It makes powerful balls even more chaotic and satisfying to play with. The falling down one is cool too. We also added force modifiers for each type of bullet, allowing to make the standard Death more varied as well. So far it's pretty cool, but when the player uses Pingpong balls the Hoolis should fall faster or maybe have more friction when hitting the floor. What do you think? Anyway it's been a ton of fun to flesh-out this system! 😄 #gamedev #indiedev

I'm seeing a lot of people saying it is just a bad upscaling instead of Gen AI, but it is indeed Gen AI animation. There are things going on in it that just don't make any sense for puppet animation. Here are some parts that make it clear, I slowed down the video so it's easier to notice the chunky parts. I checked the past ADs and it's possible to notice details (from an animator's POV) that are common and make sense for human work, so it was definitely a choice to use AI on this new AD

Scroll-triggered animations are coming to Chrome early next year (and we've been really excited about this one for a bit!) 🥳 Unlike scroll-driven animations (already in Chrome & Safari), this API introduces "timeline-trigger" and "animation-trigger" to start an animation within a specific range, rather than relying on the scroller completion *as* the animation timeline. I got nerd-sniped and wanted to try it out so I built this shape morphing demo to show how you can apply multiple animations to the same element over with different triggers. PRETTY COOL IMO! Burned 200k tokens just for "animations" and still AI couldn't do it well. I tried one of the expert animation design engineer's, Emil Kowalski's Agent Skill on my website to improve animation using Grok 4.5 It analyzed the UI, found issues, came up with a good plan, and iterated multiple times. The end result actually made parts of the UX worse. Also, it never suggested the animation experience I had in mind. So I explained exactly how I wanted it to feel. It got much closer, but still missed details like applying the same animation during keyboard navigation between cards. That silly. The lesson isn't about the model or the Agent Skill. But it's about, "Even the strongest models can't infer your taste yet." They can't and won't suggest it. AI only executes. You have to define the experience with enough details for it to execute. Otherwise, you'll end up with something that's almost okay, but still not what you wanted

Yes, the $20/mo one. 3 days of banging my head on the wall and burning Astra tokens. Sharing it for free. Y'all better build some cool stuff with this Link: Details, demo prompt, and cost breakdown are in replies. To be clear: It's not perfect. The demo is a small interactive scene, not a full game. For full games, your best bet is to build it with smaller models, then use this skill to improve the graphics. This is the best I could do, but it's not going to fix the fact that Astra is expensive and Plus quotas are tiny

The cutscene sequences and the little details are just sloppy for GTA6, a 2 billion dollar game. Here in this scene, she has no bandana mask on her or on her neck, and within a 10-second sequence, as she was already driving, she has a mask on. It basically spawned on her face, even as Jason puts his mask on himself. She makes no moves to put on a mask before she floors it... and it's just another one of those implausible continuity issues that's jarring to see. It's a "state change" without the animation happening. These kinds of issues, along with animation, SFX, etc are ALL OVER the extended look trailer, and this is what the team thought was good enough to ship for the official look. Yeah, it's nitpicky, but that was the bar and expectation that the developers set for us, and IMO it didn't meet it.

The worst take about the web is that you should not use JS/React/etc because HTML alone is good enough. It's an 'austerity mind virus' that has captured even some smart engineers. The idea that the web is for 'documents' and if it stays in its own little box like 1995 it's going to somehow be better for the world. This is how we ended up with Safari having the most obnoxious limitations, including a back/forward navigation gesture that makes the web feel like a horrendous 'digital book' of sorts. No, the web is also for dynamic, rich, interactive applications. JS is a key ingredient in the recipe, otherwise every click and interaction will have to hit a server, feel slow, and we'll always be a second class citizen. The web's developer freedom & better deployment model will win in the end, but it can't come at the expense of quality.

I had the comic animated with Atlabs AI The video pretty much says what everything is about. I honestly like silly comics like this. I really should make more and have them as videos as well. That's another things for a long list of things I need done... Also I plan on running more tests with Omniflash in the future especially when Seedance models may not do things a certain way or have things looking a certain way. Also if anybody is planning on using Atlabs for anything I plan on making a video next month on how I use certain video models and which I typically use. This is specifically on how I use certain models for certain things. Not MG. I plan on having it in a tutorial section. I have hopes this will provide people that use any video models with some needed help when choosing what they should get started with because a Sora video model is no longer an option, which was very integral involving how I would use video models in general.
