Our Breeding Facilities Was Destroyed by Fire This is probably one of the most unusual updates we have ever shared from our breeding program. A few weeks ago, a serious fire broke out at one of our European breeding facilities. The damage was extensive. Parts of the greenhouse were completely destroyed. Breeding rooms, equipment, electrical systems and infrastructure were heavily damaged by the fire and heat. Looking at the facility today, some areas are almost unrecognizable. For years, this place has been part of our breeding work. Thousands of plants have passed through these rooms. Selections were made here, generations were developed here, and a lot of the work behind genetics eventually released by Fast Buds happened inside these walls. And then, in a very short amount of time, a large part of it was gone. What happened? At this moment, the exact cause of the fire is still being investigated. There are obviously many questions, and we have heard different possibilities, but until the investigation is completed, we don’t want to speculate or point fingers at anyone. When we know more and are able to share it, we will. For now, the photos and videos speak for themselves. What did we lose? The physical damage to the facility is significant. Equipment can be replaced. Rooms can be rebuilt. Infrastructure can be installed again. The much more important question for us was what this meant for the breeding program itself. Fortunately, Fast Buds breeding was never dependent on a single building. Over the years, we deliberately expanded our breeding operations across different locations. Our second breeding facility in Thailand remains fully operational, and our breeding program continues there. That means this fire is a serious setback, but it does not stop our breeding work. Current projects continue. New generations continue. Testing continues. And the genetics we have spent years developing do not disappear because one building was damaged. Why we’re showing this Normally, when people see breeding online, they see the good part. Beautiful plants. New selections. Huge populations. Frosty flowers. Lab results. New releases. This is the other side of running a real breeding operation. Facilities fail. Equipment breaks. Crops don’t always behave the way you expect. Years of infrastructure can disappear incredibly quickly. And sometimes your breeding facility simply burns down. We’re not sharing this because we want sympathy. We’re sharing it because this is also part of our story. We have spent more than a decade building Fast Buds, and during that time we’ve had plenty of things go wrong. Every time, the answer has been pretty much the same: Fix the problem. Learn from it. Build again. What happens now? First, we are working with the relevant people to understand exactly what happened. Then comes rebuilding. We already know that we don’t simply want to recreate what was there before. If we have to build again, we’ll use the opportunity to improve the facility, rethink parts of the infrastructure and build something better suited to where our breeding program is today. Meanwhile, breeding continues in Thailand and across the rest of our operation. So yes — one of our breeding facilities burned. It looks terrible. It is a serious loss. But Fast Buds breeding isn’t going anywhere. We’ll rebuild. And we’ll keep you updated as we do.

Yesterday we shared screenshots of Zuri’s birth at the Pittsburgh Zoo from the 2012 documentary Elefamilia. But Zuri’s isn’t the only unnatural birth recorded in the film. Savanna is also shown giving birth to Angeline ~ her foot chained, zoo handlers commanding her to lay down as they try to drag her newborn away. When we filed our lawsuit in Pittsburgh, we also submitted a temporary restraining order to stop the transfer of Zuri and her sister Victoria to the zoo’s breeding facility. Got this Ramayana video on Whataspp. Amazing detailing and splendid presentation. That’s the correct use of technology, and keeping details in mind. Also, another thing I’d like to point out. Because of Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan, a certain image of Shri Ram is imprinted in our minds where he fights from far with bow and arrows, shooting powerful and celestial arrows to vanquish his enemies. He’s almost never shown in close combat with sword, maces, etc. The fact is, Shri Raam was one of the best warriors in almost all weapons. That has never been focused on - reasons unknown. However, this video shows him dashing through the crowds with his amazing sword skills. The finesse of his swordsmanship as shown in this video is actually a true testimonial of what a fighter he is. Something that I really appreciated, and hope further recreations also focus on. Jai Shri Raam 🙏

They did it y’all, Freenbecky made it through the year and they came out stronger, and we’re all still here beside them. I know I haven’t been here from the very beginning but from the moment I discovered these girls I knew how special they were. Some beautiful footage from the dam of a remote beaver pond in early spring this year. You can hear the sounds of spring all around this pond, which we call “Capsaicin Pond” (story behind that below). But this is more than just pretty footage...the footage highlights an interesting dynamic in the wolf packs in this area...because all the wolves in the video belong to different packs but they all have a history with one another. Notably, this pond is in an area of overlap between the Half-Moon and Lightfoot Pack territories. The first wolf in the video is the new breeding male of the Half-Moon Pack (now dubbed Wolf Y15C after we collared him this spring). He and his mate kicked out Wolf V094, the longstanding breeding male of the Half-Moon Pack, in Fall 2024. And Wolf V094 just so happens to be the 2nd wolf in this video, and Wolf Y15C’s mate happens to be V094’s daughter. Small world! Wolf V094 was a lone wolf at the time this video was taken but he joined the Peatlands Pack later this past summer. But you can tell he is getting to be an old fellow. And then the last wolf on camera is the breeding female of the Lightfoot Pack (Wolf B3S). She recently became the breeding female of the Lightfoot Pack after kicking out her mother in Fall 2024. And as it turns out, her mate is the son of Wolf V094. For a few months last winter, V094 actually traveled around with this female and his son in the Lightfoot territory but then for whatever reason, moved on. Now, as for the name, let’s just say someone on our crew was out doing fieldwork near this pond a few years ago and had a little issue with their bear spray...it was a long walk out for them with some blurry eyes that were feeling the burn...
