Garry Porter is a 66 year-old white man who lives in Glendale, Arizona. He is the engineering director at Caris Life Sciences Caris Life Sciences. He was upset that I condemned racists for donating $700,000 to Shiloh Hendrix, who called an autistic five-year-old Black boy a ni88er, so he left a voicemail at my church. Everyone’s crying about the Obama video, but last night President Trump also posted this, which somehow didn’t make headlines; can’t imagine why. There are hundreds of white people on Twitter upset that I spend my money with Black businesses. I don’t care. We’ve got to stop letting people gaslight us into thinking racism isn’t real or that group economics isn’t necessary for Black progress. Right now, Black unemployment is up to 7.2%. For Black women, it’s risen from 5.5% to 6.3% since last year. If we’re serious about confronting discrimination, we have to be intentional about supporting each other. That’s not racist — that’s wisdom. There are always a few Black folks who choose to serve white supremacy. Darrell Glasper is one of them. If you call a Black man a “cancer” for standing up for his people, you’re not just out of line — you’re a tool of the very system we’re fighting. We have to call that out as boldly as they attack us. I’m a free Black man, and I act like it. My doctors? Black. Landscaper? Black. HVAC tech? Black. Electrician? Black. Esthetician? Black. Lawyers, tailor, publicist, business manager, print shop, mechanic — all Black. When I host events, I choose Black venues. Because the Black dollar has to build Black economic power. If you’re white in America, you don’t have to try to buy white — it’s the default. So don’t be offended when Black people choose to be intentional about building our own economic future. If racist hate from Black Americans keeps going unchecked, retaliation is inevitable — and a race war would be a disaster for everyone. Shiloh Hendrix was wrong and DOES NOT deserve $600K. But her getting that kind of money is what happens when black racism and aggression against White Americans goes unchecked for too long. America rightly condemns white racism. It’s time we hold black racists equally accountable. Justice has to cut both ways.
