The founder of LangChain says both models and harnesses have gotten really good between December and now. According to Harrison Chase, the core idea of an agent before Christmas was a model running in a loop and calling tools. This had been the north star for 3 years. - langchain had this when it launched - autogpt was the same idea - openclaw is kind of a future version of it Then about a year ago, they started getting really good. Claude Code, Manus, and Deep Research were all launched around the same time. All of them use the same pattern: running in a loop with harnesses (planning tools, file systems, code execution, etc) Harness engineering became a thing. Then Opus came out in November and really unlocked it. - the harness let the model do more and more - less hardcoded logic - way more control Then everyone went on vacation, played around, and realized that the model and the harness finally worked reliably.

Incredible last few minutes of the Rick Rubin / Adam Neumann interview. I got chills listening to this. --- Adam: We'll connected to this week's portion. We all have something that we're slaves to. We all have an addiction to anger, to ego, to power, whatever it is, idol worship that we have. We all have an Egypt. We all need to leave that Egypt, come out of it. When we come out of that Egypt, we all face a Red Sea. When we see that Red Sea, we all need to have the courage to walk into it so far that we drown. Only when we're willing to drown will the Red Sea be split and we'll go to our next level. We then go to our next level. We see the Red Sea split. Suddenly we're like, oh, everything is okay. And we forget. The moment we forget, we step into the desert. We all have to walk through our version of desert. That desert is between us, us, and God. No one else. The only decision we get to have is how long we're going to journey through that desert. Are we going to journey for 14 days like the children of Israel were supposed to? Or are we going to journey for 40 years because we're not learning our lesson? Our choice is not, are we going to get into the desert or not? It's how long will we be in. We are not okay, and that’s okay to say. I wish I could tell you that we are standing here and that the rest of the world is standing with us. With you. Sadly I can’t say that. There is a loud and aggressive minority around the world who doesn’t get, that being murdered at a peace festival does not equal resistance. I do however, know that we are standing here on behalf of all those people in the world, with moral clarity. And there are a lot of them. And there are many who want to be here with you. And they are here with you at heart. On October 7th, your loved ones went to Nova. We call it a peace music festival because that’s what it was—a place to make new friends, to let loos explore and celebrate life. And this juxtaposition hurts the most —because on that day, the light your loved ones were, was met with the most unimaginable darkness. Our lives will never be the same. But today, as we remember them, we also make a promise: to honor their memory by living as they would have. As we stand here in grief, we have a message to the world: we will not be defeated. Israel was attacked on October 7th and every day since, for the crime of existing. For the audacity of just being here. But we are here, and we are here to stay. And despite the trauma we’ve faced, we are in Israel, standing strong together, committed to the memories of those we lost and to the return of our hostages. Universal Ostrich Farms Update: We are still trying to get a headcount on the number of birds here, it is proving to be quite difficult. The family is quite concerned, as are supporters. The CFIA will not provide a headcount and are not being transparent with the family or the public. The RCMP have stated that they have begun in an investigation and that the investigation is ongoing but they are relying on information from CFIA for their investigation. I don't know if there are missing birds here, but I think that the truth matters and we are going to do our best to get to the bottom of it. More to come.

There have been attempts to ignore and disregard what we value. But now it is impossible. Now our power is growing. Anyone who might want to wage aggression against a democratic country sees what the response will be. And the more we all work together, the less likely anyone else in the world will follow Russia's insane path. But is this enough? Democracy needs more. I think we need the clear global leadership of democracy. This is the main thing that we provide with our cooperation.

introducing OpenBench v1, an open framework for measuring AI performance and efficiency for your codebase and use case. Companies are realizing that you can't simply tokenmaxx, and are frantically looking for better ways to use and measure AI use and efficiency. One approach is evidenced by the rise in model routers: OpenRouter, Cloudflare, Databricks, Vercel, and now Ramp to name a few. But they'll also need the ability to evaluate how agents are performing in their actual use cases and codebase. A good example is DoorDash's recent evals on their codebase and prs. This will become even more important as companies explore different model + harness combinations. OpenBench will be built to this direction, focusing on the cross between correctness vs efficiency in both token use and latency. Starting off, OpenBench makes it easy for anyone to add to the task set, and run a variety of harness + models. The framework also makes it easy to add any custom harness variant, for example I've been testing codex variants with ablations against the stock codex harness. OpenBench will also have tooling to help with discovering/adding reliable tasks from your repo. Today I have integrated harnesses: codex, claude, cursor, devin, grok build, pi, and eval'ed them for different models like gpt 5.6-sol, GLM 5.2, Kimi K3, Grok 4.5, etc. measuring correctness %, token use (in/out/cache), and latency.
