I've just discovered that my maternal great grandfather was a Polish Jew. My family had a feeling he was. Now we are certain from research we've been doing. As a Christian I've always been supportive of Israel and the Jewish community. I understand now why. It's in my DNA.

We have interviewed both Jews and non-Jews about their experiences of facing this hate first-hand. Over the coming days, we will be releasing an eight-part series of short testimonies. The first airs tomorrow, Wednesday 29th May, at 18:00 GMT, on all our social media platforms.

The Mladic family has just sent an invitation to the entire Serbian people to attend the farewell ceremony for their general. Memorial service: Saturday at 12:00 PM (Army House - Republic Square) Funeral: Monday starting at 7:00 AM (Church of Saint Luke on Vidikovac) - People will gather in front of the church where they will have the opportunity to say their final goodbyes to the general from 7:00 AM to 12:00 PM. - The memorial service will begin at 12:00 PM. - Afterwards, a procession will proceed to the Topčider Cemetery, where the funeral will take place starting at 1:30 PM. Comment -Monday is a non-working day for Serbs. Everyone, fulfill the final command!

This unpleasant footage – showing a man appearing to say “Heil Hitler” and perform a Hitler salute – was taken on Saturday at a “Free Palestine” protest. When the person behind the camera challenges him, other people in the crowd are heard saying, “Everybody’s got their own beliefs.” The man then behaves aggressively towards the cameraperson. Appearing to express adulation for the man responsible for the industrial slaughter of six million Jews is not a reasonable belief like any other. It is antisemitism. The incident has been reported to Metropolitan Police. Not just this gesture but the reaction of the crowd underscores the rising extremism in Britain right now.
