Dr. Francesa, last night: "Dart's injury, without any question... WITHOUT any question... is minimal." It might be a week or so. (He knows about these things because he's had two knee replacements.)

🚨 PBKS 2.0 🚨 - PBKS is not interested in releasing any player from the previous season. - Though they'll take call on the Injury replacements. [Rohit Juglan] That means at least one between Owen & Maxi is getting released. 👀

While the water companies enforce hosepipe bans…water companies in England and Wales lose nearly 3 billion litres of water every day through pipe leaks. This accounts for roughly 20% of the total water supplied. Privatised English water companies have sold off 35 to 40 reservoirs since the 1990s without building any major replacements.

State Farm Insurance EXPOSED “In 2021, I was working as an insurance adjuster for State Farm, and they specifically told us not to pay for any roof replacements. We can only pay for repairs. So you're talking about over 200 adjusters working 2-5 claims a day, being told, Don't buy a single roof” This is literally fraud

🚨 JUST IN: Supreme Court Justices SAM ALITO and CLARENCE THOMAS are NOT retiring this year — CBS and FOX This would mean that President Trump won't have any SCOTUS appointments before the midterms These guys are BASED and their eventual replacements must be impeccable! Remember Yulia Prokhorova, a Russian migrant in Germany who was deported back to Russia after her infamous stunts and shows of support for Russia? She suddenly found out that Russian replacements for YouTube - "RuTube", and "Zen", a VK-owned blog platform, do not pay any money to Russian influencers, Yulia included. Yulia appears to be quite upset by this unfortunate development.

I don’t think we’ve shared any rail install publicly, but it’s satisfying to watch. The rail isn’t affixed to the pipe and each joint has a tiny amount of allowable play. This lets it conform to the geometry of installed pipe all on its own. Install, maintenance, and replacements are a breeze. We spent a long time trying to make our system work without rails in the pipe. The robots could run just fine, but junctions, handoffs, and above ground infrastructure was tricky when your robot relies on a pipe to move. Now it’s trivial for us to run robots outside of the pipe, make custom turns, and integrate hardware into the rail and portals. I’m super glad we went this direction, it’s a no brainer in hindsight but that’s how system optimization goes.

Security camera footage catches people stealing sewer grates from sidewalks in San Francisco Residents are upset because the city then sends the people who live near the sewer grate the bill for a new sewer grate “According to the City Public Utilities Commission and the Department of Public Works, the sidewalk in front of a house, including its grates, is the responsibility of a homeowner” According to residents who have the grates stolen and are sent the bills, the city is doing nothing about it “So far, none of the neighbors we've talked with have mentioned anything about the city making any effort to track down whoever is stealing the grates, but the Department of Public Works does have a list of hardware stores where residents can buy replacements” This is classic California Democrats, send the victims of the crime a bill and do absolutely nothing about the criminals committing the crime

In the last ten years, I've seen: 1. A small cottage industry of made-to-measure Shetland sweater knitters disappear. 2. Two bridle leather goods makers close down. No replacements. 3. A major West End bespoke shoemaking firm shutter. 4. Two major American suit factories narrowly saved from the brink of bankruptcy (almost completely wiping out suit production in the US). 5. A major American shirtmaking factory also narrowly saved from permanent closure. 6. Vanners, one of the oldest silk mills in England, having started in 1740, was repossessed by administrators for the second time in two years. Management told me it's largely because of the decline in high-end neckwear sales around the world. 7. One of Britain's best leather goods manufacturers, RBJ Simpson—otherwise known as Simpson London—closed. 8. Caerlee Mills, which made some of the best Scottish cashmere knitwear in the world, many under the name Ballantyne, turn off its machines after 225 years of operation. The video below shows the factory being demolished. 9. Several bespoke tailors and bagmakers pass away or retire. In many cases, they did not have apprentices, so there was no one who was able to take their place. Their businesses just closed. 10. One of the best American tailors (a cutter, technically) called me in 2021 after he lost one of his coatmakers to COVID. He wanted to know if I had any recommendations to coatmakers in the US or around the world, as he doesn't know anyone left in the US who can sew a bespoke suit jacket or sport coat together anymore. The only people I could recommend to him were in Southern Italy.

In Trump ‘45, the President had a showdown with the Tennessee Valley Authority over 200 American jobs that TVA had switched to H1Bs. In the run-up to Christmas, TVA fired these 200 Americans - and had them train their foreign replacements on the way out. They did this despite the fact that TVA is (1) a government agency; (2) founded to improve the material station of poor Americans, and (3) manages critical energy infrastructure for a large swath of the country. My team and I proposed a plan to President Trump to reinstate the terminated American workers. Because the President of TVA cannot be fired by the President of the United States we thought President Trump should hold the TVA board members responsible - the highly-compensated decision-makers who had orchestrated the H1B worker swap. The President agreed. He started firing TVA board members one at a time, with a demand to reinstate the Americans to their jobs. It didn’t take long before the TVA president and the remaining Board members agreed to reinstate the American workers. At the time, some skeptical commentators said it was meaningless because it was “only” 200 jobs. But it was an important moment for two reasons. First, these 200 jobs mattered to 200 American families, especially with Christmas approaching. Second, it set an outer boundary for what short-term labor visas (which is ultimately what the H1B visa is) should NOT be used for: to replace competent American workers in a critical industry with temporary foreign visa workers just to save a buck. There is broad agreement on the right about what H1B visas - or any other visa - should NOT be used for. The TVA showdown is an example of that. Agreeing on this common understanding is the right starting place for this incoming administration.

🦔Workers in India are wearing head-mounted cameras for 12 cents an hour to collect training data for humanoid robots. The footage of them doing everyday tasks like cooking, cleaning, sorting, and walking through public spaces gets sold to robotics companies building the models meant to replace those same kinds of jobs in higher-wage countries. The arrangement has been running for roughly two years. Workers do not own the data, do not get residuals, and in many cases are not told what their footage is being used to train. My Take The workers wearing the cameras live in a country where robotics automation will hit decades later, so they are training their own future replacements at a delay that hides the consequence from them personally. The companies buying the data are mostly US and Chinese, building humanoid robots aimed at warehouses, retail, and service jobs in countries paying $15 to $25 an hour rather than 12 cents. Robotics companies need motion data that mimics how humans actually move through real environments, and synthetic data has not been good enough yet. Paying 12 cents an hour in Bengaluru is cheaper than running motion capture studios in Boston, and it works at scale because the worker absorbs the cost of the camera, the discomfort of wearing it, and the long-term loss of any rights to their own movement data. The robotics labor market that eventually emerges from this footage will displace far more wages than the data collection cost to gather. That is the trade investors funding humanoid robotics startups are betting will pay off, and the workers in the videos are the ones paying the tab up front. Hedgie🤗

Details shared by Owner - 1. Tyre Burst (First Month): The tyre burst at around 3:00 AM due to a suspected manufacturing defect. Mahindra denied the claim, calling it customer negligence. I had to replace the tyre at my own cost of ₹15,000. 2. Gear Knob Failure: The illuminated gear selector stopped working and the gear knob malfunctioned. 3. ESC Failure: The ESC system failed while driving in traffic, requiring RSA towing. During towing, Mahindra RSA damaged my front bumper PPF. 4. Questionable ESC Repair: I was initially told the required part would take 15 days to arrive. However, the same day I was informed the car was ready. The service advisor later admitted the part had been taken from a demo vehicle. 5. Coolant Pump Failure: The car remained at the workshop for 15 days. The service center claimed Mahindra had issued a recall/campaign for this issue, but I never received any official communication. 6. Repeated AC Failure: The AC stopped working while driving. Despite five workshop visits, the issue kept recurring within a couple of days after every repair. 7. Additional Issues During 1-Month Workshop Stay: While the vehicle was at the workshop for AC repairs, two more defects were found: Damaged seat frame/seat rack Infotainment display cracking due to sunlight 8. Display Replacement: Initially, the service center blamed my parking habits (parking in sunlight or vehicle orientation). After several days of discussions, the display was finally replaced after about 15 days. 9. Electrical Noise (Current Unresolved Issue): After taking delivery on 26 June, the car started making electrical wire-like noises on 2 July. The service center claims it is due to a ribbon behind the front bumper, but no permanent solution has been provided. I am still driving the vehicle with this unresolved issue, raising serious safety concerns. Summary: My vehicle has visited the workshop over 40 times within one year. Due to repeated failures and multiple part replacements, almost every major component has been changed. Only the seats, battery, and outer body shell remain original.
