Toward the end of the project, she had doubts about the story, and was having regrets about agreeing to talk to me. It was disheartening and upsetting — because you never want to hurt someone who is already experiencing great loss. So this note (below) meant the world to me. “I want to say I appreciate all your hard work in telling the story about how corrupt the whole situation is with Kamlet,the police and the justice system.There was never any accountability or investigation into [Gina’s] death. It is extremely upsetting to me On a daily basis that justice will never be served and the answers will most likely remain under the rug due to a lack of work by the people that are suppose to figure it out. I’m sorry for getting upset with you. I am happy with the story and hopefully something will come from it. Happy new year.”
