This is obviously a very inopportune time to give an agency that is acting lawlessly even more money. ICE has so much funding, it has no idea what to do with it. I’m not interested in funding an agency that’s operating outside the law.

Because the U.S. Constitution requires that money can only be spent if Congress approves it, when no agreement is reached, many parts of the government simply run out of legal authority to operate. That is what has happened, it even affects American embassies, they are only attending to emergency issues. The last shutdown was in 2018 when Trump was President.
