First night in Shanghai! I have wanted to take the maglev train for years! 300km/h is not bad and it’s smooth! 7 minutes for $7. That beats 45minutes! Maglev was originally conceived of by Robert Goddard in the USA in 1904. The Germans built it but this is the only commercial version to my knowledge.

Florida assistant principal arrested for DUI for riding an e-bike while intoxicated. The incident came after Kenneth Bevan Jr. was asked to leave a local bar. Deputies reportedly warned him not to ride the e-bike. After leaving the bar, deputies watched him as he walked his bike to a 7-Eleven. At the 7-Eleven, he purchased a 12-pack of Budweiser, placed it in the e-bike basket, and rode off. He was then stopped and arrested. Pretty wild that children are allowed to ride 20+ mph e-bikes in the street, but a grown adult can't ride one after having some beers.

I held a meeting with German Foreign Minister @ABaerbock. We discussed further support for our state, the path to a dignified peace, and the development of security guarantee formats. Germany is a leader in Europe in the scale of assistance provided to Ukraine — from financial aid and weapons to strengthening our air defense. This includes 6 IRIS-T systems, 3 Patriot systems, and Gepard anti-aircraft guns. All this support has saved thousands of lives. We are grateful to the Bundestag for the decision to provide an additional 3 billion euros to Ukraine. In total, German support this year will amount to 7 billion euros. We are grateful that German support for Ukraine remains unwavering and stable. We thank Germany, its Government, and all the German people for their significant assistance.

Now, we have to deal with a funding gap. Because of the way defense budgeting works, at the beginning of this year the Ministry of Defense used funds that had been budgeted for the end of this year. And the total gap is 27 billion. One of the main options is to bring forward part of the European loan funding this year. But we should not give up on other ideas for how to ensure fair protection in this war – a war that Russia started and continues to prolong. Russian assets are already frozen in Europe and in other jurisdictions around the world, including our partners, including Japan. And wherever these assets are, we need to find a fair way to use them for protection against Russia’s war I thank every member of the Coalition of the Willing for their support.

We have done a lot to transition the Ukrainian Air Force to a new aviation standard – Western combat aviation. From the beginning of this war, we have been talking with our partners about the need to close the Ukrainian sky from Russian missiles and aircraft. We have held hundreds of meetings and negotiations to strengthen the capabilities of our aviation, air defense, and Defense Forces. We often heard the word "impossible" in response, but we made possible what was our ambition, our defense need, and now – it is a reality in our sky. F-16s in Ukraine. We ensured this. I am proud of all our guys who are skillfully mastering these aircraft and have already started using them for our country. I thank our team for this result. I thank all the partners who are truly helping with the F-16s, and the first countries that accepted our request for aircraft – Denmark, the Netherlands, the United States, – and all our partners, – we value your support. I wish our Air Force and all our warriors to feel the pride of Ukrainians in our combat aviation and to bring Ukraine the combat results that will bring our victory closer – our just peace for Ukraine.
