Folks here are acting shocked that Lockheed needs 18 months to get PAC-3 ACE to initial flight test. Like it's trivial to build a new Patriot & IBCS compliant missile that costs a third to half of what the MSE costs and still handles over half its threats. And by the way, not one Patriot customer, including the US, has put a single dollar toward developing ACE yet. Lockheed isn't going to push anything operationally capable until that money shows up. Over 50% of US aviation losses in Epic Fury were MQ-9s, with the share of combat losses running even higher (70+%). USAF leadership has addressed this directly in recent remarks (video 👇). And as I've noted before, when you stack Epic Fury's combined combat and non-combat crewed aviation losses against Desert Storm, this campaign actually compares favorably to what the coalition took against Saddam in '91. This has been documented by VLO225 and others in more detail (🔗👇).

![Apparently five additional E-7 AEW&C are planned to be included in USAF's FY27 procurement request [Via amendment] in addition to the five E-7 AEW&C added in FY26 [EMD] and the two E-7's part of the Air Force's original MTA. This should take the total on contract, or budgeted to 12 E-7 AEWC. 👇👇 Testimony: "The E-7 was not originally in the FY27 [procurement] submission. I expect the "affordable Cruise Missile" to see a major ⬆️under the new administration. Partly due to need to field affordable mass & partly due to mature designs & tech. Depending on the capability sought, this could mean a $20-$25 Bn effort to field an inventory of 100K AUR's.
