Let’s set the record straight: The Republic of Cyprus, founded as a partnership between Turkish and Greek Cypriots in 1960, was shattered in 1963 when our people were subjected to massacres. Turkish Cypriots faced annihilation during the continued ethnic violence that followed. By 1974, when Greece launched a coup to annex the island on the 15th July, we were on the brink of genocide. It was Türkiye’s intervention that saved us from total destruction. Since then, there have been 50 years of peace on the island, with Turkish and Greek Cypriots living in harmony as two separate states. As Turkish Cypriots, our identity is not rooted in illegal occupation, but in survival, resilience, and the desire for peace. Villages were emptied, families wiped out and mass graves were filled. Fifty two years later, Turkey still occupies nearly 40% of the Republic of Cyprus. The same state that enabled and promoted this barbarism continues to deny responsibility, rewrite history and demand recognition of its illegal regime in the illegally occupied north part of Cyprus. Let the world never forget the Souppouris and Liasis families and the children who watched their mothers and siblings die. This history must never be buried with the world’s silence.

🇨🇾🇮🇳 Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides took Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Green Line that divides the island between the free Republic of Cyprus and the Turkish-occupied territories. Do not underestimate the importance of this. It is a loud message to Erdogan that India is no longer taking a backseat while he supports Pakistan's occupation of Kashmir and its funding, arming, and training of terrorists. India is now a global power and is becoming involved in global issues. In international forums, Cyprus has consistently supported India on the Kashmir issue, and India has always supported Cyprus against the Turkish occupation, but now things are moving up a notch with Modi being personally escorted by Christodoulides to have a full understanding of the issues Cyprus faces. In the coming years, as the India-Greece-Cyprus alliance further deepens and develops, Turkey will regret its decision to involve itself in the Kashmir issue, just as Pakistan will regret its consistent provocations against Greece and Cyprus, such as violating Greek airspace in 2018-19 and supporting the Turkish occupation of northern Cyprus. These Turkic-wannabes LARPing as medieval Islamist warlords will be dealt with when the time in the future is appropriate.

There is a lot of misinformation circulating about the missiles mentioned by the UK Defence Secretary and Cyprus, so let’s clarify what was ACTUALLY said. The UK Defence Secretary did NOT say Cyprus was the target. He stated that two Iranian missiles were fired in the direction of Cyprus, but clearly added: 👉 “We don’t believe they were targeted at Cyprus.” The point he was making was about regional risk, not a direct attack on Cyprus. Given the geography, Israel is extremely close to Cyprus. Missiles aimed toward Israel or military activity in that area can naturally pass through or near the wider Eastern Mediterranean airspace, which includes Cyprus. That proximity raises concern — but concern does not mean Cyprus was the intended target. In fact, the minister’s message was that Iran’s response appears wide-ranging and indiscriminate across the region, creating risks for nearby areas and military personnel, even when they are not the intended objective. So let’s be accurate: ✅ Missiles were detected heading in a direction that concerned the area. ❌ Cyprus was NOT confirmed as a target. ❌ There is no statement saying Iran attacked Cyprus. Accuracy matters, especially during tense regional events. Let’s share facts — not panic.

KAZAKHSTAN SAYS YES TO CYPRUS, NO TO TURKEY🚨 Kazakhstan publicly backs UN Security Council Resolutions 541 & 550, declaring the Turkish-occupied “TRNC” illegal and invalid. Turkish Cypriot leader Rauf Denktash, admits in a British TV documentary that Turkish Cypriots were responsible for a false flag incident in 1958 – the planting of a bomb outside a Turkish consulate building in Nicosia – that triggered a wave of anti-Greek violence across the island and irreparably damaged intercommunal relations. Cyprus has never recovered from that night. While his intentions may have been good, there were several historical inaccuracies in his speech. 1️⃣ By the time tensions began in the 1950s, the population of Cyprus was roughly 70% Greek Cypriot and 30% Turkish Cypriot. 2️⃣ The Ottomans conquered Cyprus from the Venetians in 1571 and ruled for 307 years before British administration began. Ottoman rule was never considered an “occupation” because Cyprus has never been Greek. In fact, the Ottomans granted rights and religious freedom to Greek Cypriots—who had been treated as state-owned slaves under Venetian rule. 3️⃣ Violence against Turkish Cypriots lasted from 1955 to 1974. It began with the EOKA terror campaign and targeted killings, followed by the Greek Cypriot armed takeover of the Republic in 1963, leading to 11 years of ethnic cleansing and massacres against Turkish Cypriots. 4️⃣ Türkiye did not “invade” Cyprus in 1974. It legally intervened following a Greek military coup aimed at uniting the island with Greece. This was a lawful intervention under Türkiye’s guarantor rights as set out in the 1960 Treaty of Guarantee. 5️⃣ Türkiye did not occupy the entire island.
