Apple maps is more like US maps. I prefer and trust Google maps, even though I like the asthetics of Apple maps. But for navigation, Waze is my choice.

And Apple Maps is still consistently wrong all the time

I much prefer Practicality (Google Maps) > Aesthetics (Apple Maps) Especially when its outside of the US
