HODGES: Trump administration has failed miserably on Ukraine. They have so clearly been on Kremlin's side. All the pressure has been on Ukraine to make concessions. Fortunately, Ukraine no longer even pays much attention to that. Biden administration missed an opportunity because they never said, "We want Ukraine to win." They had this nonsense, "We're with you for as long as it takes," which means exactly zero. But at least they were providing support. Trump administration is worse and It does feel like they now realize that their approach was doomed from the beginning, because they didn't understand why the war started or how it started. They didn't understand why Ukrainians were fighting the way they were and why the Russians were failing the way they were. So despite Trump administration, I think Ukraine has changed the trajectory of the war. The last thing I'd say is that most European countries realize that the best way to prevent Russia from ever attacking a NATO country is to make sure that Ukraine defeats Russia. I think most people realize that Russia has to be defeated. That Russia will never change until they are actually crushed.

This guy explains that this war isn’t Putin’s and Zelensky’s. It’s Russia’s war, and anyone who supports it. It seems so off to hear that Russians are sorry for deaths on both sides after facing what they preferred not to see before. They didn’t care about Ukrainians dying. They’re scared now and they deserve it. Also, Russians can end it in a second. They don’t demand it because they don’t want to lose. However, I disagree that the Russian army is the second strongest in the world and that Ukraine has almost no military. Unfortunately, Russia has many useful idiots willing to die for their Czar and imperialism, so Ukrainians have a lot of work to do and need a lot of support to deter them.

Here’s this stable genius claiming that “mud” stopped the russians and that they “would have been in Kyiv in 4 hours going down the highway.” First of all, it wasn’t “mud” that stopped the russians, but brave Ukrainians who refused to surrender their homes to the invaders. Second, the russians did go down that highway — and were obliterated by Ukrainian artillery, as seen in the video of burning armored russian columns. President of Ukraine: The Russians started the war, and there are no alternatives to this wording. The whole world is a witness. They came with aggression to destroy us. We stopped them. Europe helped, America helped. Russia has not managed to occupy Ukraine because of the strength of the Ukrainian people, soldiers, civilians, and our partners. Again, this does not sound like the Russians, and in particular Vladimir Putin, were bent on conquering all of Ukraine, winning a decisive victory. And in fact, what happens after 19th March in Istanbul is that the two sides do begin to negotiate, and it's very clear that there are a lot of difficult issues on the table, and it's not clear you would have ever gotten an agreement. But the central agreement on the table is the question of Ukrainian neutrality. And what was going on here is that the Russians just wanted to make sure that Ukraine did not join NATO. They were not interested in conquering all of Ukraine. They did not want Ukraine to turn into a Western bulwark on them on their border. And that's what this operation was all about. Almost impossible to sustain the story that the Russians were interested in conquering Ukraine. My final point on this is those negotiations eventually break down, and as I said, agreement that would have ended the war back then, but it's not the Russians who walk away from, the negotiations. I think it's the Ukrainians who bear the principal responsibility for walking away from the negotiations. And of course, what happens then, once, once the war is not settled in Istanbul, is it evolves into a war of attrition.
