HODGES: Trump administration has failed miserably on Ukraine. They have so clearly been on Kremlin's side. All the pressure has been on Ukraine to make concessions. Fortunately, Ukraine no longer even pays much attention to that. Biden administration missed an opportunity because they never said, "We want Ukraine to...

APPLEBAUM: Witkoff and Kushner had a pretty profound effect on how peace negotiations been conducted, and it’s not positive. They prolonged war in Ukraine because their attitude was, "We’re going to Moscow to do deals with Russian companies." Russians were delighted by this, we know that they were offering them stuff in the Arctic, minerals, and so on. They even told European allies, "Be prepared, because this is what they’re doing." This has been in the newspapers, it’s not a secret. Witkoff and Kushner gave Russians impression that Americans were on their side, that they could somehow buy Trump administration. That they would eventually defeat Ukraine with the help of United States. And this war has an important psychological element. It’s over when Russians stop fighting and say, "We can’t defeat Ukraine. Ukraine’s not going to become part of Russia. We stop fighting, have a ceasefire, or begin to negotiate." But Americans put sort of new life into belief that Russians would win the war militarily, that Ukraine would eventually fall. It didn’t happen, mostly because of Ukrainian ingenuity, this real reinvention of modern warfare with drones. It didn’t fall because European countries stepped up to the plate and began funding Ukrainian war effort and Ukrainian economy. You have now this so-called coalition of the willing, which includes most countries in Europe, plus few others. And they’ve kept Ukrainians fighting. And Ukrainians have been holding the line for some months now.

.Jimmy Dore: "They had the Ukraine war in the chamber, which they had been preparing for at least a decade. Rachel Maddow and Anderson Cooper are never going to tell you that the CIA got in bed with right-wing Nazis in Ukraine to overthrow their democratically elected government. Why? For economic reasons. They got a better deal from Putin and Russia than they were getting from the European Union, and that cannot stand. So, we overthrew their democratically elected president. So what happened after we overthrew the government in Ukraine in 2014 was the Russian-speaking ethnics in the eastern part of Ukraine didn't want to go along with that coup government, and so the Ukrainian government started bombing them. They started shelling them, which is why we had to have peace agreements, Minsk Accords I and II, and Angela Merkel revealed that they never meant to go along with those. They just used that as a time to build up the Ukrainian military to get ready for a war with Russia that they were going to provoke, which everyone knows that they did provoke. They provoked it using Kamala Harris at the Munich Security Conference when she said we're going to put Ukraine in NATO. That was the final straw. All Putin wanted was I can't have you putting nuclear weapons in Ukraine, and I can't have NATO right on my border. But the way it's told in the United States is that Putin is an evil dictator, and he just woke up one day and decided to invade Ukraine. And then, of course, he blew up his own pipeline, the Nord Stream pipeline, which actually screws over Europe and Germany. People say I'm turning Democrats into Republicans and stuff like this. No, I'm trying to wake up Democrats and Republicans to the uniparty that has been running things. Every war, every coup that we do, there seem to be some natural resources that we are actually after, and Lindsey Graham just said it: there's $11 trillion in rare earth minerals under Eastern Ukraine. He blurts it out like his boyfriend's name on Valentine's Day."

🚨Ukraine is a GANGSTER STATE Oliver Stone about NATO, Ukraine, Russia, US The United States found itself caught in the trap. We're supporting Ukraine, which is a gangster state. US is fighting 'indirect war' with Russia. That is the worst foreign policy decision probably within recent. I mean, just go back to the turn of the century. What do we need NATO for? The problem was that a lot of Eastern Europe went fascist against Russia, and they stay fascist. This is a very complicated issue because the United States found itself caught in the trap. Right. I mean, we're supporting Ukraine, which is a gangster state, basically against the legitimate interests of Russia, and we're attacking Russia. I mean, it's basically a indirect war on Russia. We've started with the stated gold said by several people, including Biden and his secretary of defense. The point is to weaken Russia. That is the worst foreign policy decision probably within recent. I mean, just go back to the turn of the century where George Kennan was at least alive, and he was a tough guy. He was not a pro soviet guy, but he just warned us about NATO. He said that, what do we need NATO for? And I still wonder, what do we need NATO for? It's a big, superannuated, superficial organization. We don't need it because everybody. Shumer was on TV, that senator from New York, another senator from New York, who I think is also partially insane. I despise him. And he's saying that if the Russians take Ukraine, they're going to be marching over Europe. Sure. We heard that in 1943/44 that they were going to take over Europe. Did they? No, they were not interested in that at all. They wanted to recover from their war. They lost so much of their nation fighting the Nazis. They're against fascists, always have been. They hate them. The problem was that a lot of Eastern Europe went fascist against Russia, and they stay fascist. They don't announce it that way, but they certainly act it. That makes the world a very tricky situation.
