Apple’s new Liquid Glass design makes iOS 26 the biggest iPhone software update in years. But how many people are just going to head straight to Settings and switch the Glass off?

It looks incredibly good People really shouldn’t turn it off before they give it a good chance, there’s really no issues with readability whatsoever

iPhone users can't be bothered to change any settings when it "just works"*

Liquid Glass is terrible. Unfortunately you can’t turn it off — you can only tame it a bit in “Accessibility” settings. Best is to avoid updating. @Apple would be wise to include an option to switch back to the iOS 18/MacOS 15 UI designs.

It looks fine those complaining are just complainers.

Just go with the flow, don't switch it off.

Almost no one will turn it off. Most people will never figure out that you can even do and after a short time of maybe "ugh new stuff, don't like" people will stop caring

Probably a great way to save your battery

Already did. In general I’m not a fan it’s a bunch of superfluous UI pixy dust that doesn’t make the user experience better. It’s actually annoying. I turned Motion off too. I want to revert.

Switching it off doesn’t just get rid of Liquid Glass. It takes most transparency away from everything. Do it if you have an accessibility issue but if not, you’ll just make it look worse.

Actually: Do use the liquid glass effects, it is made so that your eyes and mind focusing subconsciously. Lots of subtleties across apps. A simple toggle feels like liquid button. Control Centre (right ear) pull feels nice.

millenial pun-core

Please don’t advise people to increase their contrast without telling them what else this will affect. Like their photo edits and more.

The glass have way too low contrast, impossible ro read. That's why!

The thumbnail tho 😭

I can’t figure out how to set a thumbnail on here! Can you send me what you see?

Might be useful to you @libbynd_ & @TraceyNeum92807 ? I've toned it down but then again, I've lived with it all summer so the 'joy' has faded and I just want to read my screen in poor light!

Hi Joanna,I practice English every day with your videos because they’re hilarious.

i think the fluid design pops and makes the iPhone feel next-level

Somebody call the thumbnail police.

I expect better. Saying it looks like putting your glass in water then telling people to go turn it off before giving it a chance is just bad advice. Give it a week. If you still don’t like it, then turn it off. But for the most part, it’s great looking.

I don’t understand the nerd rage at Liquid Glass. Guarantee mainstream will gobble it up.

I am one, for sure

I switched it off immediately. Also it slowed my phone down.

Changing some icons and whatever isn’t really a big deal. The iPhone has failed to be an AI assistant and that is pretty much the end of the road for the iphone. Ives is coming. He will Rake no prisoners.

I don't mind the look of the normal stuff but the theme options are incredibly tacky. None of the icon sets apart from the Default one look good... And now even the icons on the Default look weird... The new icon for the Photos app looks blurry to me. I think it's all a fail.

Thank you!! It’s so bad

I tried that and switched off in 3.1 seconds. @Apple

Just turn on Dark mode. Who still uses light mode?!

I wondered for a moment that you will insert the phone to somewhere else. Thank God you did not do that. ( At least in front of our eyes. )

Not me, because I didn’t even know that you can do that😅

Haha Fck it @Apple . Who ever suggested it needs to be fired.

Open your eye.
