See the thing here is, Archie Bunker is essentially the villain. So they could put any conservative talking point into his mouth and everyone would instantly think it as a bad thing. And that's how they indoctrinated everyone, through comedy.

Meathead was likely one of the biggest Gun Control advocates of all time. His stance goes all the way back to this show in the 70's. He and his wife were both murdered with a knife.

Carrol O'Connor and Rob Reiner both spent their lives furthering liberal causes, @uhfgood is right, it makes me ponder the fact that Reiner's son killed him and O'Connor's son killed himself.
