More videos of it in action

Also note that pricing in picture 4 is likely a placeholder (This was another Komodo station leak)

Am I looking at that price correctly? Holy shit that's expensive.

Definitely placeholder lol

Let there be color!

So we basically got Frame launch title AND colour passthrough before Steam Frame? Bravo, Valve. Bravo.

@ZGFTECH OMG how is this even real. Pleas tell me this isn’t April fools. This is exactly what I hoped might some day be a thing but had just assumed might never come out. And it’s available before launch?!?

@ZGFTECH It’s probably going to be available to order at launch This is a komodo station leak. The page isn’t actually active yet

Finally, all the Quest 3 owners can quit complaining about lack of color passthrough instead of just lifting the headset up

Should have literally been built in to the headset. would have cost them fuck all.

We get an addon for the Headset before it's even out. Dang it Valve.

I want polygonal meshing photogrammetry. Splats are cool but I want meshes too T.T

You can usually use the same datasets for both splats and photogrammetry

Of course, I do them a lot. But often, the software is tuned for the camera so the first party tool does better loop closure. This is something that i'm a huge fan of, been doing it for many years.

2.3k euros seems…….. a lot

Very likely a placeholder price I heard an expected price on what it would be many months ago. And it was not in the thousands (barely was in the hundreds)

Can someone add more than one module to the port? Like, adding this and then another face tracking module? Doesn't look like it but not a deal breaker. I can't see me *needing* both at the same time.

Quest3 hits with "We have 144hz too!" So Steam Frame drops "Oh yeah? We have color passthrough options too!" What happens next week?

Hope their will be a converter to convert the Frame proprietary connector to connect normal USB for PC to use, more interesting to use it as PC cam or 3D scan

@DennysKuhnert But the price! Kidding. Please post again when it’s live so I can buy.

I'm all hyped for it. Using the frame like a Vision pro would be dope. What other games or app would be fun to test it out with it ? I don't like a permanant fix tho, i want to switch between the face tracking and the xr module. I can see it being used for hand tracking, &for ASL

Please please please tell me it has its own xr chip specifically dedicated to pass through! Would be even cooler if it could handle all the tracking capabilities as well that way the Frames chip could be specifically used for graphics perf in whatever software/game being used.🤞

Guess that port came in handy

So the company that makes the camera is doing what valve didn't, for HOW MUCH??? shame, shame, shame, shame. And worse of it all it's going to use the port that I will most likely use for facial tracking meaning I would have to constantly swap between both...

I'm gonna splat

Are they gonna add a 10 bit HDR displays too? 😄

Steam frame $3000 confirmed

Hmm is it using PCIe or MIPI to transfer the pixels? Wondering about connecting it to a PC.

will it work on other steamvr headsets like pimax and bigscreen or only the frame ?

Will hand occlusion be possible?

So now my concern is immediately, if being used for passthrough, what the latency/motion to photon stuff look like? Framerate on the spec sheet seems fine, but…

Wow, I wasn't expecting this so soon. Although I guess it wouldn't have been so soon if frame had released in early 2026 lol.

@BowsetteKoopa

Brilliant and on an open platform, think of the possibilities - going to be fantastic.

Supremely interested in seeing what impact this has on stuff like battery life/temps/other resources… …and how ideal it can make Steam Frame for someone like me who spends entire 8hr shifts remote working in mixed reality.

Can’t wait to try cooking with it. If I can do that comfortably (which I can’t on the Vision Pro, due to resolution and battery tether), then this will become my everywhere device. Nice to know there is basically a color passthrough option from the start. Next, thermal cam?

I would love to hear how it compares to the AVP

How hard would have been to make the module have the cameras split and adjustable... why not have people adjusting the module to their own IPD thus less warping software magic needed? Or is OK having the world size mismatched with real one because hands don't work anyway?
