As long as ₿itcoin is money, absolute ownership via cold storage will never be obsolete. Absolute security over compromise, every single time

not doomed but the real risk is slowly shifting to firmware and supply chain, not the device itself. at $83.7k with oi down 2.8% people are clearly de-risking, so hardware wallet demand probably isn't the weak point right now

Security is less about the device label and more about firmware review, backups, and recovery discipline.

the 2020 ledger shopify leak ended with people getting fake replacement devices mailed to their homes. the chips held up fine, the customer database is what got popped

A signing device protects a key after it exists. It cannot repair a key that was weak from the start. Seed quality is fixed at generation, which is why entropy you can produce and check yourself, like dice, matters.

lowkey the 3 min video explains more than half of crypto twitter

the answer was in the headline...... journalism is healing

Self-custody only gets stronger with better hardware — the key is that the user, not a company, holds the keys. Great to see the conversation is about resilience, not abandonment.

🦾

so why don't cold wallets manufacturers ask users to authenticate when they are bought from third party ? That extra layer won't hurt.

Hardware wallets aren't going anywhere 🔒 As long as Bitcoin exists, self-custody matters. The whole point is: NOT your keys, not your coins. Cold storage + hardware wallet = the OG security setup. #Bitcoin #BTC #SelfCustody #GlobalWhales

The person responsible for this soundtrack should be prosecuted and probably locked away for life.
