Are dragons evil?

Depends on the context. Dragons are more of a literary device used to represent forces of nature as opposed to actual moral agents such as Tiamat. Their association with evil was a later medieval trope. What a dragon even is is debatable depending on the time and place.

Exactly lol

It's also worth seeing if "dragon", or an equivalent of it, even appears in the original Biblical text or if it was just the best English word they had for "big scary monster."

No but spiders are evil

But what about the little jumping spiders? 🥺

No. I have some questions to ask God about spiders they freak me out so bad.

@SylentBell I have a grievance against spiders as well. They used to keep jumping on the back of my neck while I would be minding my own business. Now I take a KoS approach for most spiders.

@SylentBell Oh heck no

@SylentBell One of them met their end with the only weapon I had at hand....a calculus book.

@SylentBell Thats a hefty weapon.

Let's not forget about Job where God brags about Behemoth and Leviathan at examples of just "really cool and terrifying things I made." And contextually God is arguing, "I'm God, I can do what I want and make what I want, and I dare you to stop Me."

THIS!!! the amount of times I've been told I was a demon is crazy 😭

Horns signify power in the Word/reality. Our Lord possess horns Himself. [Revelation 5:6]

The Bible used the lion as imagery of Christ (the lion of Judah), but that doesn't make the lions who were meant to consume Daniel holy, nor the lions David killed to protect his flock.

There is an interpretation that seraphim are actually, essentially dragons, though with 6 wings instead of the typical 2. Maybe something like this art:

In Revelation, the devil is described as a dragon, but I don't think it's meant to reduce dragons to ordinary evil beasts. To me, the dragon represents something much larger—a power and symbolic presence that transcends a normal creature.

This earned my follow. 💪🏼

This sounds like pro dragon propaganda... proceed.

Thank youuuuuuu…. That’s why i love the Wolf. Beautiful animal that represents so many strong and beautiful traits.

Now do mosquitoes. (Agree tho with all points said)

One could say they are but with that same logic, you would have to say every human is vile and evil simply because one is. One never defines the many.

Dragons are just dinosaurs, so they're just creatures. Big scary creatures, but creatures God created regardless.

Actually, I'm pretty sure the Bible implies that all snakes ARE evil.

1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary the devil walketh about as a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour". Yep. Lions are totally evil now.

This is why we shouldn’t let women teach the bible.

Kindly tell me exactly where I was wrong in what I said c:

You say the bible does not say dragons are evil but instead the representation of it. But you are not a dragon, you are a representation of one. Also I think anime is demonic.

The character I’ve created is meant to be a hybrid of sorts with a dragon, so the character herself IS a dragon. Anime is also not demonic, that’s quite shallow thinking. But Yknow what is? All those porn accounts you follow, friend. “For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye. “Do not give what is holy to the dogs; nor cast your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you in pieces.” Matthew 7:2-6

I know you want your character to be a dragon but I mean you yourself. Also anime is demonic bc it can absolutely lead to a porn addiction. Also I got hacked a while back and the hacker followed a bunch of porn accounts and now I am trying to get rid of them.

@SylentBell You know nothing about dragons

@SylentBell You’re right. I don’t and I don’t care.

Even dragon shall Him praise

Oh I like you

extremely cute ava

I mean, does it matter? Have you seen their giant...

@Risen_SzN Wasn’t it believed that dragons did exist? But it turned out to be the dinosaurs.

I've seen some arguments that draconic/serpentine forms are characteristics of the seraphim class of angels, of which, some people think, Satan belongs to.

Amen

Look at the wendigo. God made the deer!

What I understand. The angels that are closest to God no longer have a human form. Which in some case if they were to just magically appear in front of people, the first thing they would think is alien/monster. So in that sense, heaven has its own monsters. So maybe dragons too

It also depends of the image that each individual want to expose with those animals i believe

We're taking the dragons, goats, snakes, and owls back!! They are God's creations! 😤

Similar to how lions are used to compare with both God (Lion of Judah) and Satan (roaring lion seeking whom he may devour). It’s allegory and context.

In one fantasy word God created including magic and dragons they received one racional mind like this humans, to follow the desires of one's flesh or not it's a choice of the dragon

Good argument, there aren't enough people out there actually thinking about this stuff.

I'm mostly 1/4th remembering this properly but i did hear that the wording for Dragon was a bit of a translation issue or something of the sort for Tyrant

Also, dinosaur is a relatively new term. Before that, they were referred to as dragons and it's telling that cultures all around the world have their own descriptions of dragons. They were dinosaurs, either living or fossilized, and they came up with their own legends around it.

Thats some pretty good faith-based logic

You can't convince me that wasps and hornets aren't spawned in the deepest darkest pits of hell
