No ancient source ever uses the phrase born of water to refer to Human birth.

Jesus did…

@petersbarque No.. Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God."

@petersbarque That’s a good boy. Now read the preceding and following verses.

@pudicat11 You mean the verses where he contrasts climbing into your mother's womb to come out again with being born of water and the spirit? Or when they go out and start baptizing people in water after this discussion?

When you’re so Faith Alone that the guy that invented Faith Alone isn’t Faith Alone enough.

I'm sure you are a very nice person, but you are wading into waters you haven't properly examined. This is one of those things you will look back on 20 years from now and feel embarrassed. Lutherans believe faith in Christ is the ONLY way to salvation. That's enough for now.

I hope that’s the case. These “conversation” videos are based on real conversations. And this is a subject I’ve discussed with Lutherans many times and get very conflicting answers from them. Even trying to look into official doctrine I get conflicting beliefs.

You may be speaking to poorly catechized people. Our beliefs are "in stone" in the Book of Concord (1580). Something like baptism is basic, in the Small Catechism. We teach our children this. If you're told anything other than this feel free laugh at them

Are Lutherans Christians?

You are such a fake.

Do you want to explain your baseless accusation further?

Sure piggy, I’ll cast you a pearl even though I shouldn’t. You literally write arguments for yourself to win. You’re the Aaron Sorkin of low IQ evangelicalism. You don’t worship God. You worship yourself and you have deified youe own intellect.

@taco_talks And such a low intellect at that. One of the most ignorant & unstable people I have ever seen, who twists Scripture to his own destruction. 2 Peter 3:16

@taco_talks He doesn’t know enough scripture to twist it. His god is himself,

@taco_talks Well he sure does like to do a lot of back & forth split screen dialogues with himself.

@taco_talks It’s the only way he’s able to win an argument. Like I said, he’s the Aaron sorkin of low iq evangelicalism.

I truly hope after the reception of this video on this platform, you’ll reevaluate. Humility receives correction. You can still disagree with the doctrine, but it’s important to listen to how others actually explain their doctrines if you want to have productive dialogue

Literally no person on earth is a Christian except for this weird dude with thick glasses. How lucky is he that he has it all figured out! Dork.

Could you please do a video on how true Christianity wasn't discovered until Americans with Autism revealed it to us?

Get off the internet

So let me get this straight. Lutherans aren’t Christians neither are Catholics or orthodox. What are you a Baptist?😭🤣

What a dumb video. Not surprising since you think anyone who doesn’t hold to your very specific niche-brand of “reformed” theology isn’t Christian, Soft Taco.

Does taco just talk or does he ever do debates?

These should get you started.

Oh this is such a gift. Thanks Taco for giving away so much of your credability for free and unsolicited.

This is one of more impressive and quality strawman productions. But still. Fight against men of straw, win crowns of straw.

You somehow managed to slander Lutheranism even more than you slander Catholicism

If you want a primer on this from someone who isn’t someone who doesn’t realize what he doesn’t know, Rev. Fisk is brilliant:

Oof. This is rough, man. I encourage you to read the Lutheran Confessions so you can understand what Lutherans actually believe. Other options are Baptism and Eucharist videos on YouTube by Bryan Wolfmueller, Chris Rosebrough, and Jordan B. Cooper.

If you don't think that God can use the material world to impart grace, then you are implicitly denying the Incarnation

My dear brother, make an appointment with a Lutheran pastor, bring your Bible, and you will leave that meeting weeping with joy. If you don’t have a confessional Lutheran church near you, call me.

Imagine a clown explaining faith alone… TO THE DENOMINATION THAT IT CAME FROM!!! 😂😂😂😂😂

Baptism is your work in the same way your mother birthing you was your work. It isn't.

Wow I’m actually impressed how bad this is

Do you believe that repentance is required for salvation? Is repentance a work?

The Bible teaches that repentance is a gift. It is something that happens when a person is saved, not something that happens so that a person can become saved.

Ah the classic "I'm too stupid to understand your position" argument. A real gem.

17th century Jesuits didn’t misrepresent Luther & Lutherans as much as this video did

Delete this

Lutherans don't believe in transubstantiation.

Try talking to an actual Lutheran.

This is fake and gay, repent.
