Although I'm not a fan, but they're doing something all fan's wish their teams can do and spend money to win. I would like to see restrictions on deferred contracts and maybe a higher luxury tax penalty, but the Dodgers are following the rules.

Baseball is more popular than ever. The notion that dodgers are ruining baseball as we enter this golden era is absurd.

So basically this is a loophole in the banking system. The Dodgers are just buy now pay later. Essentially they turned their players into Affirm with 0% interest…

The question isn’t even being asked how many teams can do this without mortgaging the team when these deferals hit years down the road . The Dodgers know the money will always be there. Mid market teams not so much when there is a decade of bad baseball.

Every team has the ability to do this. Maybe stop being cheap and invest in the team and if its too expensive then sell it to an owner who has the balls to do it

Opinion: don’t blame teams like the dodgers and Mets that have money and make the team better. Blame the cheap owners and teams like John fisher and the As that won’t.

Other teams aren’t owned by an international banking conglomerate. Other teams have to realistically plan for the future because they dont have an entire banking group backing their checks. Salaries should be tied to team revenue only.
