Claude Code feels completely different once you install this. Anthropic quietly released an official plugin called claude-code-setup and it basically turns Claude Code from “pretty good” into an actual AI dev environment. It scans your project and recommends: → hooks → skills → MCP servers → subagents → automations Then sets everything up step-by-step for you. Most people are using Claude Code completely vanilla… which is why their experience feels messy. The real power comes from the ecosystem around it. Install: /plugin install claude-code-setup@claude-plugins-official Bookmark this before you forget it.

5 GitHub repos with ⭐50K+ combined stars that show how far people are pushing Claude Code beyond a single coding agent 1) instructkr/claude-code 2.3K⭐ -> a research snapshot of Claude Code’s source with the internals exposed for inspection. [ ] 2) codeaashu/claude-code 3.2K⭐ -> another reconstructed Claude Code codebase built for studying how the agent works under the hood, including tools, prompts, MCP. [ ] 3) Donchitos/Claude-Code-Game-Studios 20K+⭐ -> turns one Claude Code session into a game development studio with 49 specialized agents, 73 skills, 12 hooks, 11 rules and 41 templates. [ ] 4) VoltAgent/awesome-claude-code-subagents 24K+⭐ -> 154 specialized Claude Code subagents split across 10 categories. [ ] 5) tanbiralam/claude-code 2.2K⭐ -> a research-oriented Claude Code source reconstruction for inspecting the terminal agent architecture, plugins, tools and internal implementation. [ ] Save these if you want to understand what people are actually building around Claude Code instead of just using the default CLI.

Claude Code is now free to run. Most people still think you need a paid setup. Here’s the basic flow: → Install Claude Code with the official installer. → Create a free OpenRouter account. → Grab your API key. → Install Claude Code Router. → Point Claude Code to the local router. → Choose a free model with the :free suffix. → Run CCR code instead of normal Claude Code. → Check /status to confirm it works. You keep the Claude Code workflow. You just route it through a free model.

A few of you asked what mods are, here's a quick walkthrough! They’re really just plugins with a few special functions that let your code run inside Claude Code, like middleware. (don't worry, you can just ask Claude to write them for you 😛)
