My 1980s-early 90s work group at NASA-Ames used a C64 as a star tracker to fix the flight path of the Kuiper Airborne Observatory while we acquired infrared data with the detector attached to the telescope. An AppleII collected raw counts, A/D to Mac+, where I processed the data.
