Chief Akin Fijabi has another message for us all.. In an earlier video I posted, he mentioned perhaps in jest, that he would love to “sell” Mapo Hall. Now, he has also expressed that fasting is less beneficial and not a must. This brings us to a deeper reflection: when did our ancestral heritage and the faith of the people become subjects of light humour? When did deeply rooted spiritual practices become matters we speak of so casually? These are not attacks, but honest questions. Was he being factual? Was it carelessness? Or was it simply an attempt at humour?
