Armenia's PM Pashinyan: The issue is not whose historical truth is correct. The issue is that this has to stop. My proposed strategic deal is this: Armenia and Azerbaijan should just leave each other alone. The way to leave each other alone is not to continue the Karabakh movement... show more

Armenia's PM Pashinyan: Ten days ago, Armenian organizations in the United States put an issue on the agenda that, in essence, seeks to continue the Karabakh movement. The Dashnak lobby in the United States invested great effort in that direction. The Armenian people have said the Karabakh movement will not continue. We will take every possible step to stop all attempts to continue the Karabakh movement. This is because the people of the Republic of Armenia voted for this vision.

Azerbaijan is once again making accusations against Armenia, claiming that the Constitution of the Republic of Armenia contains territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Let’s now examine the Constitution of Azerbaijan. The Constitution of Azerbaijan refers to the 1991 Act of State Independence. This act mentions the Declaration of Independence of Azerbaijan from May 28, 1918, and the Act of Independence states that modern Azerbaijan is the successor to Azerbaijan from 1918-1920. The 1918-1920 Declaration of Azerbaijan indicates that the territory of Azerbaijan includes Southern and Eastern Transcaucasia, and in the map presented to the Entente in 1919, Azerbaijan laid claim to the territories of Syunik and Vayots Dzor in full, and partially to the territories of Tavush, Gegharkunik, Ararat, Lori, and Shirak. Unlike the Constitution of Armenia, the Constitution of Azerbaijan contains territorial claims against Armenia. How are we responding to this issue? Are we saying that Azerbaijan should change its Constitution? No, we are saying that there is already an agreed-upon article in the peace treaty, which, if signed, resolves this issue by noting that neither party can refer to its internal legislation to evade fulfilling its obligations under the treaty.

Armenia's PM Pashinyan on Karabakh: The people did not live in Karabakh — the people of Karabakh were hostages of the Kocharyan-Serzh clan, who used the name ‘Karabakh, Karabakh’ to preserve power in Armenia. The people of Karabakh are now finally going to live — and live in Armenia — where they will have homes, peace, jobs, and social guarantees.

Armenia is sending convoys of buses to Nagorno-Karabakh to evacuate some of the 120 000 Armenians living there. It is expected that many of them will leave for Armenia as Azerbaijan is taking control of the area.

Today, the President of #Azerbaijan accidentally revealed #Russia's anti-Armenian position regarding the regional blockade. Today, during the session of the Eurasian Economic Union, a debate began between Prime Minister #Pashinyan of #Armenia and President #Aliyev of Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan isn't a member of the EEU, and Aliyev appeared at the summit because Armenia didn't block his participation. First, Aliyev used the phrase #ZangezurCorridor, which symbolizes Azerbaijan's territorial claim under the name of the road corridor from Armenia. It is an illegal demand, and according to the statement of November 9, 2020, Armenia didn't promise to give an extraterritorial corridor to Azerbaijan. Aliyev previously admitted that he himself put the idea of the Zangezur #Corridor into circulation. But the interesting thing is that during this summit, Aliyev announced for the first time that Russia also supports Azerbaijan in the Zangezur Corridor issue. In response, #NikolPashinyan stated, "It is very interesting to know that Russia supports the project you mentioned. To be honest, this is the first time I have heard about it. I know that Russia supports the opening of all transport and economic communications in our region." I think that Pashinyan's surprise isn't so sincere because everyone in Armenia was aware that we are dealing with the #Russian-#Azerbaijani alliance. Today, Aliyev spoke openly about it. The video shows that #Putin doesn't in any way deny Aliyev's idea that Russia also supports the idea of the Zangezur Corridor. Thus, it was revealed why, after November 9, 2020, Russia refused to fulfill its #security obligations towards Armenia when Azerbaijan was attacking. During these three years, Azerbaijan occupied 220 square kilometers of territory from Armenia. Azerbaijan blackmailed Armenia with #military attacks and tried to get the Zangezur Corridor, but the Armenian side refused to fulfill this demand. Aliyev revealed today that Russia supported Azerbaijan's illegal Zangezur Corridor project. Thus, it becomes clear why Russia refused to fulfill its security obligations towards Armenia. The goal was clear: so that Armenia remains alone during the military attacks of Azerbaijan and is forced to give the Zangezur Corridor. However, Armenia didn't remain alone, and today it has the support of the #USA, the #EuropeanUnion, and #France. They openly expressed opposition to the Zangezur Corridor project, which is actually a territorial claim from Russia and Azerbaijan to Armenia. I have always insisted that Armenia should become independent from Russia and get closer to the West. Today, the necessity of this idea of mine was proved once again. This discovery by Aliyev made it clear why #Russian peacekeepers in #NagornoKarabakh didn't prevent Azerbaijan when it closed the #LachinCorridor and set up a checkpoint. #Russian peacekeepers was closed the corridor together with Azerbaijani eco-activists. When Azerbaijan set up a checkpoint, the #Russians merely observed the process and didn't prevent the violation of the November 9 declaration. Russia has created a security vacuum both in Armenia and Nagorno #Karabakh. Russia aims to get a corridor from Armenia through military blackmail of Azerbaijan. Armenia is no longer alone. #EU observers are in Armenia, preventing large-scale attacks by Azerbaijan. I hope that the #Western partners once again became convinced of the existence of the Russian-Azerbaijani tandem. The West is obliged to strengthen #economic, military, #energy, and #political support to Armenia so that it is possible to confront the Russian-Azerbaijani aggressor couple. If Armenia cannot resist, the #West will be completely pushed out of the #SouthCaucasus. The 3+3 format established by Russia, #Turkey, Azerbaijan, and #Iran proves this. I am sure that the USA, France, #GreatBritain, and the European Union understand this well.

Russia is now threatening other nearby countries far more openly than before. Every neighbor of Russia heard what was said about Armenia, whose people are the only ones who have the right to decide and will choose the future of their country. What Russia says about Armenia is, in truth, not about Armenia alone. No one can be left without support – Europe has no right to lose any of its peoples, to leave any country behind. Armenia must be supported. Moldova must be supported. The Baltic states. Azerbaijan must be supported. We must find ways to support the people of Georgia as well – and this is a shared European task. No one can be lost.

🇷🇺🇦🇲 The Kremlin stated that Armenia may leave the CSTO if it is no longer interested in membership and threatened with “deep trade contradictions that will primarily harm Armenia.” “If Yerevan no longer needs membership in such an important organization for ensuring regional security due to its national interests, it is free to make the corresponding decision and leave this organization,” said Putin’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov. Earlier, Armenian Prime Minister Pashinyan stated that the republic does not intend to return to full participation in the CSTO. According to him, Yerevan’s interest in the organization has been “exhausted.” The prime minister also said he would be glad if the CSTO itself excluded Armenia: this, in his words, would spare the country’s authorities the dilemma of whether to leave the organization or not. Peskov also stated that if Armenia decides to leave the EAEU and join the EU, it will face “deep trade contradictions that will primarily harm Armenia.”

🇦🇲🇷🇺🇦🇿“I recognized Nagorno-Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan after you had recognized it twice,” Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol #Pashinyan said to Russian President Vladimir Putin at the #Kremlin. The Armenian prime minister has voiced this idea multiple times in recent years, but this is the first time he has stated it directly to #Putin during the public part of a meeting. The point is that Russia acted as a guarantor/mediator/party in the November 9, 2020 trilateral statement. Moreover, Russia was an ally of #Armenia. Seven days after the signing of the statement and the freezing of the war, Putin made a statement recognizing #NagornoKarabakh as part of Azerbaijan. A few weeks later, he made a similar statement again. Taking into account #Russia’s status in the context of the conflict and its allied relations with Armenia, it became clear in Yerevan that Armenia had been left alone on the issue of #Artsakh. This, along with subsequent incursions by Azerbaijan into Armenia (and the lack of response from the #CSTO), forced Armenia to agree to the Prague Agreement of October 6, 2022. Under this agreement, Armenia effectively recognized Nagorno-Karabakh as part of #Azerbaijan. #SouthCaucasus #MiddleEast

Armenia's PM Pashinyan on Karabakh: The Karabakh movement was a trap for us, which we entered. Karabakh had already been lost from the very beginning. We were in the process of losing Armenia. Journalist asks State Dept Spox about an article accusing the US of interfering in the South Caucasus for its own geopolitical interests. "That's absolutely untrue...America's goal is to ensure a lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and to ensure the humanitarian needs of the civilians in Nagorno-Karabakh are met." First point: there are less than 50 Armenian civilians in Nagorno-Karabakh. Azerbaijan successfully ethnically cleansed it, in large part because Azerbaijan faced no objection from the "international community" in doing so. And this non-answer is especially maddening after a half hour of spox explaining that US has and will continue to send Israel military aid and defending Israel's large-scale attacks on civilian settlements by saying, "any country would do this if they saw children being slaughtered and hostages being taken." But we did see this from Azerbaijan during its 2020 war on Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh. The US didn't send Armenia military aid to fight its invader, Azerbaijan, or condemn Azerbaijan; it called on both sides to de-escalate. And the US continues to send Azerbaijan military aid.

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev: Azerbaijan opened the way for serious geopolitical changes, and those who once said, "Karabakh is Armenia, period," are now saying, "Karabakh is Azerbaijan." They are being forced to say it. And Armenia’s recognition of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity is not simply an expression of goodwill and cannot be regarded as such.

🚨 ARMENIA IS BEING PUSHED TOWARD GEOPOLITICAL SUICIDE 🚨 Armenia is days away from elections, and anyone who worries about sovereignty, territorial integrity, the Armenian Church, or Turkish-Azerbaijani expansion is instantly smeared as “Kremlin payroll.” But when European leaders, journalists, public figures, and cultural personalities flood Armenia weeks before the vote to support Nikol Pashinyan, we are told this is just “normal political interaction.” Armenia is a small nation trapped between Turkey and Azerbaijan. It cannot afford to become a polarizing anti-Russian satellite in the South Caucasus. The only formula for Armenian survival is balance: between East and West, Russia and Europe, Russia and NATO, while preserving Iran as Armenia’s friendliest and most vital neighbor. If Armenia antagonizes Russia or Iran, who will defend it when Azerbaijan threatens Syunik, speaks of “Western Azerbaijan,” and prepares the next stage of expansion? Europe will not save Armenia. The Trans-Atlantic alliance will not sacrifice Turkey and Azerbaijan for Armenia. We saw this in 2020. We saw it again in 2023, when Artsakh was abandoned, and Armenians were ethnically cleansed while the world watched. Armenia must not become Ukraine 2.0. Because if this path continues, the Armenian people may be pushed into an existential trap, while Ankara and Baku wait for the historical opportunity to finish what began in 1915.
