The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has busted an illegal LPG racket in the Sangam Vihar area, recovering a total of 183 Indane gas cylinders from delivery agents’ godowns. Out of these, 154 cylinders were filled and 29 were empty. According to the police, four accused—Sher Singh, Suraj Parihar, Raghu Raj Singh, and Jitender Sharma—have been apprehended. All the accused are registered delivery personnel of an authorized gas agency and were involved in illegal storage and refilling of LPG cylinders under the guise of distribution. Investigation revealed that after collecting cylinders from the agency, the accused did not deliver them to customers but instead stored them in rented godowns A case has been registered under the Essential Commodities Act and relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). There is no need to worry about getting oil, queuing up at Petrol-Diesel pumps, or storing a lot of LPG cylinders. If you feel that someone is selling you goods at a higher price or indulging in black marketing, report it to the Deputy Commissioner or any government office... There is no need to panic."

#WATCH | Amid ongoing tensions in West Asia, the Central Government has invoked the Essential Commodities Act, 1955, to ensure the uninterrupted availability of natural gas and LPG. The Act empowers the government to regulate the production, supply, distribution and trade of essential commodities and take strict action against hoarding, black marketing and violations. LPG cylinders have been declared an essential commodity, and authorities are closely monitoring supplies across the country. The government has also directed efforts to increase LPG production, prioritise supply for essential sectors and diversify import routes to maintain energy security. Oil Marketing Companies have organised around 1,600 awareness camps, distributing nearly 14,000 cylinders. About 1.1 lakh cylinders were sold yesterday, taking total sales to nearly 8.9 lakh since March 23. Domestic needs remain prioritised, with fertiliser plants receiving about 95 percent gas supply. Petrol and diesel supplies are stable with no dry out, as refineries run at full capacity with adequate crude. The government has directed diversion of C3 and C4 streams to the LPG pool to boost supply, while allowing limited use for petrochemicals. Enforcement has been intensified to curb malpractices. And most of the other papers just copy them, essentially. But is that really what we want? Do we want a handful of people deciding what they think is important? Or should it be the people who decide what's important? And I think it should be sort of an organic thing, where the people decide what's important and what to focus on, not just a handful of editors. This husband and wife were driving through a tiger reserve. After spotting a river flowing through the reserve, they stopped their car, went there alone, started bathing, and even did a photoshoot. Wild animals like tigers, leopards, and elephants come to this same river to drink water. At any moment, one of these animals could have attacked them, and they could have lost their lives. There was no one around to rescue them. India is full of such reckless people. They go anywhere just for a photoshoot, a bath, or sightseeing without understanding the danger, putting their own lives at risk.

RANDOM SHOTS: A leader must be out there. Must be in touch. Must be at the forefront. Must see things for himself. Must not be surrounded by sycophants who tell him all is well when it’s clearly not. A leader must be courageous, leading from the front, and not cocooned away from the pain of the people he/she leads. Rain, or shine, a leader takes the risk so his/her people do not have to. The reason to want to be in office is to make the lives of your citizens safe, easier and better. You don’t have to be liked by everybody, but you must do right by everybody for the greater good and not for the benefit of a few.
