Samuel J. Seymour witnessed the assassination of President Abraham Lincoln and lived long enough to tell his story on television in 1956 for the show “I’ve got a secret”. He was 5 years old when his godmother took him to see “Our American Cousin”. He sat in the balcony across from Lincoln’s presidential box. He remembered Lincoln waving and smiling as he made his way to his rocking chair. He heard the gun shot and saw Lincoln slumped forward in his chair. He didn’t understand what happened to Lincoln but was worried about the man who leaped from the box to the stage, John Wilkes Booth. Not long after this he passed away on April 12th, he was 96.

Arthur C. Clarke predicting the future of computing in 1974, with his young son Jonathan beside him: "I brought along my son Jonathan who in the year 2001 will be the same age as I am now. Maybe he will be better adjusted to this kind of world that you're trying to portray." Clarke then paints a picture of what daily life will look like when Jonathan grows up: "The big difference when he grows up is that he will have in his own house not a computer as big as this, but at least a console through which he can talk to his friendly local computer and get all the information he needs for his everyday life: his bank statements, his theater reservations, all the information you need in the course of living in a complex modern society." He describes the setup with remarkable precision: "This will be in a compact form in his own house. He'll have a television screen like these here and a keyboard, and he'll talk to the computer, get information from it, and he'll take it as much for granted as we take the telephone." But the interviewer raises a concern that still resonates today: "I wonder though, what sort of a life would it be like in social terms? I mean, if our whole life is built around the computer, that we become a computer-dependent society and computer-independent individuals in some ways?" Clarke acknowledges the tension but sees a profound upside, one that anticipates remote work decades before it became reality: "They'll also enrich our society because it'll make it possible for us to live really anywhere we like. Any businessman executive could live almost anywhere on Earth and still do his business through a device like this." He closes with a vision that has quietly come true for millions: "This is a wonderful thing. It means we won't have to be stuck in cities. We'd be better off living out in the country or wherever we please and still carry on complete interaction with human beings as well as with other computers." Half a century later, Clarke's prediction reads less like science fiction and more like a description of an ordinary Tuesday. He wanted everyone to have the precious love he had with his wife and the love for his kids. This is what every woman wants. To be loved. To be seen. To be adored. To be cherished. For her the same. She adored Charlie. You could see it every time he walked into a room. The way she spoke to him. Their communication. It was real. It was beautiful. The vile left took this man away from his family. This is Inesh from the CJP protest. He said that his hunger strike would continue until Dharmendra Pradhan resigned. Later, when the doctors told him to eat or he could fall sick, he ended his hunger strike. Now he says he will remain at Jantar Mantar until Dharmendra Pradhan resigns. Let's see whether he sticks to his word this time or goes back on it again.
