Chiwetel Ejiofor is impossibly great in 12 Years a Slave and this performance should be mentioned as one of the century’s best. This is an extremely painful film to watch & I’ve never actually rewatched this a second time. But Ejiofor could not be better. He deserved the Oscar.

This really just happened in the US Supreme Court. Trump's attorney John Sauer just essentially told SCOTUS Justice Sotomayor that Joe Biden could deem Trump as being a corrupt person, and then order the military to assassinate him. And it could be viewed as an official act that is immune from prosecution. Justice Sotomayor: "If the president decides that his rival is a corrupt person and he orders the military to assassinate him, is that within his official acts to which he could get immunity?" Trump's attorney: "It would depend on the hypothetical, but we can see that could well be an official act." Listen to the exchange below:

It doesn’t sit right with me that Philip Seymour Hoffman didn’t win the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor for The Master. Christoph Waltz was flawless in Django, but his performance in Django is cut from a similar cloth as Inglourious Basterds- and not as good. PSH in The Master is a once-in-a-lifetime performance. He should’ve won the Oscar for that exact reason.
