Community health centers like this clinic in Madera are often the lifeblood of their communities. They are often the first place families turn to for care, serving rural communities and our most vulnerable Californians. As Secretary of HHS, I worked hand in hand with community health centers to help deliver COVID-19 vaccines, and I saw firsthand the vital role they play by providing preventive care, primary care, and other essential health services. During National Health Center Week, I'm proud to celebrate these clinics and the dedicated health care workers who keep our communities healthy.

I visited Winona Health to talk about expanding Minnesota’s health care workforce. We need more doctors, nurses, clinicians, and medical technicians in every corner of the state so people don't have to drive hours to get health care. As Governor, I’ll work with our colleges, employers, and unions to recruit and train medical professionals, expand health care pipelines, and support primary care providers across Minnesota.

Today World Health Organization (WHO) delivered trauma and emergency care supplies to European Gaza Hospital and Nasser Medical Complex in southern #Gaza to cover the needs of 4500 patients. So much more is needed. The very intense fighting is making it increasingly difficult to run any health operations. This was the first delivery mission since 29 November. Nowhere is safe. We are extremely concerned about thousands of patients, and health and care workers. The only way to protect them is a ceasefire. NOW.

As part of the #Ebola response in Ituri Province, DRC, World Health Organization (WHO) is strengthening the Ebola Treatment Centre by expanding isolation capacity for suspected cases. The upgrades include the construction of individual isolation rooms that meet infection prevention and control standards, as well as the installation of a 10,000-litre water tank to ensure reliable water supply for patient care and facility operations. These investments help provide safer patient care while reducing the risk of transmission within health facilities.
