As a Catholic, Protestants often tell me to let Scripture interpret Scripture. So I finally decided to give it a go:

Many passages of Scripture appear to contractict other passages, and it is not a perspicuous book. Just the fact that the novel doctrine Sola Scriptura, self-refuting by the way, has resulted in a plethora of contradictory doctrines and denominations (and the denomination called 'non-denominational') proves its inadequacy in defining the content of the Christian faith and the moral life. We are not bereft of guidance, though, for Christ left us a teaching Church with the promise of the Holy Spirit.
