Our Olympic development program is housed almost entirely inside College Sports. Competition between schools and conferences is core to the value of the experience, and we all want our teams to win. But College Sports exist for the benefit of ALL Americans and to provide life changing opportunity to kids who would not have it otherwise. It’s about developing leaders for the next generation! Soccer is booming in the United States and World Cup viewership shows there is MASSIVE interest, but it will never be the priority and always play 5th fiddle to the Big 4 sports in America unless Americans fundamentally change their approach to youth sports. American Soccer is behind the rest of the world for 3 reasons: 1. Cultural Sporting DNA In the USA, Soccer competes in a crowded field of Football, Basketball, Baseball and Hockey instead of dominating like abroad. Europe and the rest of the world built soccer through community clubs, local pride and it being their default sport. They are born with a soccer ball on their feet. 2. Pay-to-Play Barrier In the USA most youth are priced out of playing because the cost to be on the team is too expensive. Currently there is a 14% decline in youth soccer participation between ages 6 to 12. Europe and the rest of world’s accessible club model keeps more kids in the game longer. 3. Less participation in the sport An all time high 16.8 million youth played outdoor soccer in the USA in 2025, but per capita the USA is far behind other European countries like Belgium which has a 3x higher rate of participation for its population size. For American soccer to catch up, it has to change its sporting culture focus to development instead of making money and lower the cost barrier for participation through state and government funded clubs over the next 20 years. Development needs to be the priority, not maximizing how much money can be made off the athlete and their parents. Instead of focusing on the old statement of “if our best athletes played”, focus on making the best athletes want to keep playing and the ones who do play the beautiful game better at it. Then and only then can we find our Erling Haaland, Lamine Yamal, Messi, Ronaldo or Jude Bellingham. carlos praising fernando alonso and spanish sports 🇪🇸❤️ 🗣️: what would it feel for you two (carlos and fernando) to give that joy of the world championship in f1 to the spanish people? carlos: well, i think fernando is the right guy to answer this question because he's had the pleasure and the success to give that joy to spanish people, to me when i was following f1 and i was his biggest fan and his biggest supporter and i can only say, yeah, it must be an incredible feeling. i've had my little experience of it by giving a win to spain in f1 and that was, when i heard the national spanish anthem, probably the most emotional moment of my career, standing on the top of the podium, hearing your anthem with your flag behind you, i think that is the thing that any driver or any athlete dreams about. and, yeah, i think we are incredibly lucky in spain. well, you could say lucky, but when you have so many athletes in so many disciplines that are so good for such a relatively small country, it cannot be luck. it needs to be that we are investing well in infrastructure around sports. and when you look and you go to the smallest village in spain, you still see a 25-metre swimming pool, you see a 400-metre running track, you see a football pitch, you see a basketball pitch, you see all kinds of olympic installations, and that's in the smallest village you can imagine. so i think we are a country that invests a lot in sports, and from a very young age. and in the end, it pays off, and it makes me a proud spaniard to see that such a relatively small country is so well represented in any kind of discipline, from motorsports to motogp to tennis to football, masculine and feminine. i don't know. i think we are a very successful country in that way, and it makes me proud.

Adelaide AFL, Football Australia and many other sports are totally embarrassing themselves. They claim men are males if they play elite level sport but can be women if they *feel* like it at grass roots levels. The lunacy is finally being exposed and it really is a matter of time until reality is once again reflected in law and policy. I love what the men over in the USA are doing regarding the WNBA. It all needs to be exposed.

Farewell to International Space Station! This is truly a special place, special mission, and special team that makes it happen. It is a bittersweet departure today – I have a keen awareness that I may never be back here, and even if I was, it would be at a different time with a different crew. This chapter is over. Spaceflight has always been a life goal, and it has turned into a life-fulfilling endeavor – but not for the reasons I thought growing up. When I was young, I pictured the launch, the incredible ball of fire and the acceleration, the spacewalks (how could you not wonder what it’s like to be in that suit?), and I was fascinated by the shuttles, capsules, and stations. But as I complete this second mission living and working in space, what draws me to this job is the people. Experiences like this are amazing, but the relationships we build that make it possible are the “why.” Every day, this mission depends on people from all over the world, of different nationalities, races, religions, and cultures. It depends on government and commercial entities, it depends on all political parties, and it depends on commitment to an unchanged goal over many years and decades. It depends on people dedicated to being part of something bigger than themselves, whose names may never be known but who wake up every day to make the world a better place and to be part of something they will be proud to tell their grandkids about. History will look kindly upon them. Humans have always had a propensity to explore … across lands and oceans, up mountains, and into the sky. We as a species will never stop wondering what else is out there, and what it would be like to go. But then, in the words of TS Elliot, “…at the end of all our exploring, will be to arrive where we started, and know the place for the first time.” Crew-10 is on its way home.
