Excellent conversation Yusuph and the team 👍 Keeping systems and applications up to date and applying the latest security patches will keep most malicious hackers and cybercriminals from gaining access to systems by using known exploits and vulnerabilities.

Which one is our priority for securing a digital future for Zimbabwe? The Honourable Speaker's position while providing a clear, logical, and data-informed counter-argument we appreciate his efforts and submission. Let us have a conversation on our priorities in the current Zimbabwean context which we presented yesterday: This is a critical national conversation on our digital future. The proposition of a Google data centre is undoubtedly appealing. Building a centre of Technological Excellence that houses multiple Tech companies and a Start-up Ecosystem is also prudent, though we are calling it a Technology Park. However, I was of the following view which I am willing to be criticised and guided on. The strategic prioritisation of a national ICT Park ecosystem currently is the foundational path to sustainable, sovereign growth and capacity for Zimbabwe. We are reaching out to every province through the Digital Centres, Innovation Hubs at Universities and Colleges. Infrastructure which we need to capacitate better. This is a decentralised system utilising and expanding the infrastructure we have. The central question is not if we want major players like Google; that is not questionable, but when, how and on what terms. Why are we building our own foundation, house, techno park and mini ICT Parks in the provinces and districts? We absolutely need at least a one hyperscale data centre, but centralisation in the current and future environment can be restrictive. This was our plan: 1.The Foundation Before the Skyscraper: Capacity and Traffic We need to increase our national data volumes and internet traffic . Our urgent priority should be upgrading our national backbone, specifically the Optical Fibre on Power Transmission Lines (e.g., Powertel's network from Insukamini to Johannesburg), to peer efficiently with global giants. This builds the foundational "digital highway" we manage. 2.Generating Traffic Through Digitalization A data centre is a response to demand, not a creator of it. We must first drive digitalization aggressively through digital payments, process automation, and e-governance to generate the significant local traffic that would make a data centre viable. Furthermore, we must incorporate Edge Computing strategies to process data closer to the source, a more efficient model for our current needs and in compliance to our Cyber and Data Protection Act which we can amend if need be. Being a regional internet and cybersecurity hub is crucial as the Speaker alluded to me mentioning it to SADC Parliamentary Forum, this is the ultimate goal. 3.PPPs are key to lessen the burden to the fiscus and we are ready to accommodate organisations willing to assist government.(Cont)

Congratulations to Rwanda Hon Minister of ICT Paula Ingabire and H.E. President Kagame on a visionary Inaugural Global AI Summit on Africa. Though I attended virtually, I was energized by the bold dialogue on Africa-led AI solutions and homegrown innovation to leapfrog development and solve Africa's challenges. I was truly inspired by H.E. Kagame’s call for collaborative Pan-African AI ecosystems and Hon. Minister Ingabire’s emphasis on ethical governance and digital infrastructure. These are priorities that Zimbabwe wholly shares. President Kagame's call for "Africa to stop playing catch up" in the AI revolution is a bold statement in joining all Africa to build our capacities. 🇿🇼 We’re advancing our National AI Strategy, prioritizing: ✅ AI-skilled youth through STEM partnerships and a Digital skills program that will empower 1.5 million Zimbabweans in the ICT space; ✅ Tele-Health services & AgriTech to tackle local challenges; ✅ Open-data frameworks for transparent governance. Through partnerships with entities such as the World Economic Forum, Huawei, Open AI ,Google, Microsoft, Cassava Technologies and other tech giants Africa can become a formidable global player. Let’s unite to scale Rwanda’s model of practical, inclusive AI empowering SMEs, startups, and women in tech. Africa’s future is brighter when we co-create. Together we can attain the goals of Agenda 2063. #AIForAfrica #GAISAfrica2025 #ZimDigitalFuture #SmartAfrica

Key Issues Raised in the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha for Pune’s Safety and Public Services In the Maharashtra Vidhan Sabha, I raised several important issues aimed at strengthening citizen safety in Pune and improving veterinary healthcare infrastructure. Five New Cyber Police Stations for Pune With cybercrime steadily rising in the city, I reiterated my earlier demand from the previous session to establish five new cyber police stations in Pune. I urged the Home Department to expedite action on this proposal. Expanded CCTV Network and Advanced Technology I also called for the immediate rollout of 10,000 new CCTV cameras across Pune and urged the Government to announce the state’s comprehensive CCTV policy at the earliest. Additionally, I proposed integrating criminal databases with CCTV networks through face recognition technology, enabling real-time alerts to cyber cells when suspects are detected and significantly improving crime prevention and investigation. Upgrading the Aundh Veterinary Hospital Currently, the Aundh Veterinary Hospital provides only OPD services. I requested the Animal Husbandry Department to expedite the tender process for establishing a multispeciality veterinary treatment centre with modern facilities, and to fill vacant posts at the hospital at the earliest. I will continue to actively pursue these issues to strengthen public safety, civic infrastructure, and essential services for Pune’s citizens. #SiddharthShirole #MaharashtraVidhanSabha #Pune #CyberSecurity #CCTV #PublicSafety

Last year, we launched Fintech Evenings because we know there is no infrastructure without community. We wanted to bring our ecosystem along on Africa’s journey. Building on that, we recently hosted our inaugural Gala Night at The Delborough Lagos, a celebration of Flutterwave's ongoing transformation and our commitment to the Nigerian market. The event brought together Nigeria’s finest minds across business, tech, fashion, and public service, including H.E. Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, H.E. Ernest Bai Koroma, Chief Olu Okeowo, Dr. Ernest Ndukwe, Dr. Cosmas Maduka, Omotola Jalade-Ekeinde, and Tiwa Savage, Dr Stanley Uzochukwu (the Chief Host at The Delborough, a foremost luxurious hotel in Lagos, Nigeria) alongside founders, creatives, and industry experts. Moments like this remind us why we build. In addition, our Mono acquisition deepens our open banking capabilities in Nigeria, enabling seamless, secure, and scalable financial solutions. We can now help businesses launch, scale, and operate efficiently, while facilitating faster settlements across Africa. At Flutterwave, we’re not just moving money, we’re laying the financial rails that connect Africa’s legacy to its digital future, empowering Nigerian and African excellence to scale globally. IGP DISU ATTENDS UN CHIEFS OF POLICE SUMMIT, CALLS FOR STRONGER GLOBAL POLICE COOPERATION The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, psc(+), NPM, has reaffirmed Nigeria's commitment to strengthening international policing cooperation as a critical pathway to advancing global peace, security, and sustainable development. The IGP made the call while participating in the Fifth United Nations Chiefs of Police Summit (UNCOPS 2026) held at the United Nations Headquarters in New York from 7th to 8th July 2026. The summit brought together Ministers, Inspectors-General of Police, Chiefs of Police, and senior representatives of regional and professional policing organisations from across the world to discuss strategies for strengthening international peace, security, and development through enhanced collaboration between national police services and United Nations policing. Addressing the summit, IGP Disu noted that modern criminal networks increasingly exploit artificial intelligence, encrypted communications, and cyber-enabled platforms to operate across borders with growing sophistication, thereby challenging traditional policing models. He emphasized that while technology presents significant opportunities for law enforcement through artificial intelligence, digital forensics, and geospatial intelligence, public trust remains the foundation of effective policing. According to the IGP, innovation must reinforce transparency, accountability, respect for human rights, and adherence to the rule of law. The IGP further advocated greater international cooperation, capacity building, and equitable access to digital policing capabilities for all member states, stressing that the benefits of technological advancement should not be limited to a few technologically advanced nations. Nigeria's participation at UNCOPS 2026 underscores the country's continued commitment to supporting global peacekeeping efforts, strengthening international law enforcement partnerships, and contributing to collective efforts aimed at combating transnational crime, terrorism, cybercrime, and other emerging security challenges. Databricks' Ali Ghodsi and a16z's Martin Casado on where the AI risk is, and what's unfolding in the cyber space: Martin: "When the internet came out, by this point... we'd disabled hospitals, we'd taken out critical infrastructure, we'd caused tens of billions of dollars in economic damages from worms. All of that had already happened." "AI has so many people that want to find risks and threats. We're running so fast, so much money has been poured into it, and we haven't seen anything commensurate with the early days of worms. What is that disconnect?" Ali: "I am sleeping well at night, and I don't think there's existential risk right now. I do think there's a lot of infrastructure that needs to be secured." "You used to have these SOC teams, security operations center people, that would look at what intrusions are happening, how are we being attacked. And now the humans just can't keep up." "The whole cybersecurity space is transitioning into being fully automated, using agents for detection." "If we don't do that, I do think you will start seeing those kind of things, like sites going down, whole systems that stop working for a while. And there will be consequences, not existential, but economic damage and people getting hurt." martin_casado

We delivered a solid first half with robust commercial performance on the retail market in France, Europe and Middle East & Africa. Associated with improved operational efficiency, this allows us to achieve an EBITDAaL growth of 3.8% and to raise our EBITDAaL growth target for 2025. 📍 In France, we achieved a notable acceleration of 0.9% EBITDAaL and our mobile network were ranked number one for the 14th time in a row. 📍The remarkable performance in Middle East & Africa, with a double-digit increase in EBITDAaL for the tenth consecutive half, was driven by access to our 4G and 5G networks, now used by more than half of our 167 million customers, as well as by the development of Orange Money and B2B. 📍 In Europe, volume momentum and value strategy lead to retail services revenue growth +1.2% and EBITDAaL up +2.2%. 📍 In Orange Business, we are on track with the plan and have achieved very solid growth for Orange Cyberdefense with a 7% revenue increase. We have launched a new division dedicated to defense and security to leverage opportunities in the area of sovereignty. This will enable us to capitalize on Orange’s innovative prowess, cybersecurity expertise and network quality. This performance is the result of our Lead the Future strategy and has allowed us to increase organic cash flow by 7.7%. Big thanks to all the Orange teams for their commitment and performance during this first half, and to our customers for their trust. More info : #H1_2025

I am privileged to be invited as an observer to the Spier Dialogue 2026 in Cape Town, South Africa, a gathering that has brought together respected leaders, policymakers, diplomats, entrepreneurs, and change makers from across Africa and the world to discuss the future of democracy, governance, leadership, urbanisation, and economic transformation on our continent. This opportunity was made possible through the kind facilitation and connection of Mr. Peter Obi, whose commitment to fostering meaningful dialogue and engagement across African leadership spaces continues to open doors for constructive exchange and shared learning. As someone who contested for the position of Chairman of AMAC in the last election, this experience has been deeply enriching, particularly as I had meaningful engagements and listened to Mr. George Hill-Lewis, the Mayor of Cape Town and Leader of the South AfricanDemocratic Alliance, on city building, sustainable urban development, and how African cities can be transformed through visionary leadership, proper planning, and focused oriented governance. These are exactly the ideas and reforms I envisioned for AMAC and Abuja, creating functional communities, improving infrastructure, ensuring environmental sustainability, empowering young people, and building cities that truly work for the people. I also had the privilege of exchanging ideas with Mr. Venancio Mondlane, the leadership of ANAMOLA, the Mayor of Mozambique, and several other distinguished African leaders and thinkers on governance, economic productivity, institutional reforms, and the urgent need for Africa to invest more in its people, especially the youth. One thing remains clear, Africa has enormous potential, but realizing that potential requires competent, accountable, and compassionate leadership committed to service rather than personal interests. The conversations here in Cape Town further strengthen my belief that transformational leadership and intentional city development are critical to building the Africa we all desire. #WATCH | Delhi | Speaking at BIMSTEC (Bay of Bengal Initiative for Multi-Sectoral Technical and Economic Cooperation) Security Summit, National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval says, "Disruptions in global supply chains have resulted in economic hardship for all our countries. In this setting, there is an urgent need for us to collaborate, take decisive actions for our mutual benefit, and find solutions through mutual discussions and deliberations to the best problems that we are all facing. BIMSTEC brings together the most significant and vibrant regions of the Indian Ocean. We are home to 1.7 billion people, almost 22% of the world population, with a combined GDP of nearly US$ 5 trillion. We are united by the Bay of Bengal, not just geographically, but also through deep civilizational and cultural legacies that have evolved over a millennium of shared bonds. Building on these unique bonds, BIMSTEC has been anchored in robust cooperation across a range of sectors on the foundations of a great past. We strive to achieve a great future sharing prosperity and resilience for all our people. We have advanced and strengthened cooperation in fighting terrorism, combating transnational organised crime, cyber threats, meeting maritime challenges, and we are poised to combat new and emerging threats together. BIMSTEC's long-standing goals of regional security, connectivity, capacity building and economic security should continue to drive our collective efforts. For India, BIMSTEC represents our vision of Neighbourhood First, our commitment to the Act East policy and the MAHASAGAR vision, which stands for mutual and holistic advancement."
