As expected, Path Tracing is quite transformative in #007FirstLight. and it adds a lot to the lighting and overall look. but that's not always the case and the impact varies quite a bit depending on the scene. On the performance side, this is one of the heaviest Path Tracing... show more

Excellent read, is this with framegen ?

No

The 5090 gets 43 fps with dlss performance at 4K with PT high 😂

I think it's really a testament to how good the ddgi implementation is in the bae game

Yea what a bummer, saw 3 diff posts all confirming same thing, looks GREAT but super heavy, too heavy even on 50 series

Transformative sure… but is it really better? Looks like it completely changes the tone of many scenes to the point of not even being the same scene…

Totally agree, the indoor gala scenes look incredible with it enabled, but outdoor areas barely feel any different.

How's the VRAM usage? Do you think 12 GB GPUs will be able to handle path tracing here?

It depends on the scene. At 1440p, there are some areas that push VRAM very close to 12GB. And currently, there isn't really a 12GB card that can handle PT comfortably.

The best game to showcase the improvements of RR 4.5 is Cyberpunk 2077, and it's quite impressive.

Will you be doing an updated video?

No, I won't.

Would you suggest anything different? Same settings as before, and PT off? On? Low? High?

Nothing different, same settings. As for PT, it's so demanding, Whether you should enable it or not depends on your hardware and target FPS. But generally, I don't think the visual upgrade is worth the performance hit.

Do you know if the game’s using the latest Ray Reconstruction preset F?

It's using Preset F.
